We accomplished a lot gezegde

 We accomplished a lot of goals, especially winning the NCC after finishing second the last two years. All the teams that beat us were all ranked in the top 20.

 We're back on the winning track. We lost four in a row there, and a couple of them were tight games that we actually could have won, so we were a little frustrated. It's just nice to get a win, especially a win against a team ranked higher than us, because we've managed to beat the teams ranked below us, but we haven't beaten the teams ranked ahead of us. So, that's one, and hopefully we can get another one next week, maybe two.

 We beat the 10th-ranked team in the country in Minnesota State-Moorhead. They had three ranked guys, and we beat two of them. One of their guys is ranked No. 1, and Blake [Peterson] beat him. Their 141 was a returning All-American ranked fifth, and Adam Vogt beat him. We beat a Div. I team that day, and we beat two more Div. II teams. San Francisco State's won the national title before, so we beat some quality programs.

 (Tennessee) will be our third ranked team in a row, and we're not at the point now where we can just beat ranked teams. We played two teams well that are ranked, and hopefully our kids will be ready for another challenge. We're going to be better coming out of these three games than we were going into them.

 This event continues to be strong. This is one of the strongest fields in recent years. Ten or 15 years ago, the tournament drew more of the higher ranked teams. But there is so much depth in college tennis today. When teams are ranked in the top 50, they're good teams.

 We knew all along that we were capable of winning district. I think a lot of people sold us short at the beginning. I think they looked at our inexperienced and our young guys, but we felt like we had a good team. We accomplished three major goals tonight with this win. A 20-win season, going undefeated at home, and winning district. Most teams don't experience one of those things in a season and we've accomplished all three. That says a lot for this team and it's something they should be proud of.

 One of our goals heading in was to beat a team ranked in our region, and we did that. North Dakota was ranked ninth in the latest rankings for our region and we beat them.

 Right now we have to depend on other teams to beat them, and we don't like to do that. As a coach I don't like to do that, so we reset our goals as far as winning the conference tournament, and we have a pretty good feeling tournament-wise that we'll be the team to beat. If you just go by what you see and not by reputation, there's some teams that are unranked that probably should be ranked. Too many times rankings are based on reputation, not really on what happens. Maybe if you go by what you see, maybe the answer is yes.

 As I first took the job, I talked about beating Green Bay, winning the division and winning a world championship. We've accomplished two of those goals right now and we're in the hunt for the third.

 Winning the district and finishing second at state were our goals this year. Never did we think we would dethrone St. Xavier, but we knew we could be state runner-up. To achieve all of our goals is an incredible feeling.

 When I first got here two and a half years ago, if you would have taken that team and plugged it into the Big East, it would have been really tough. We are going to go and race tough. Our goal is to finish the year in the top 30 in the country. We accomplished that last year, on the men's side, finishing 27th. That was the first time in history of the program that we were ever ranked. Last year we broke 32 school records, mostly in the conference meet. Our goal is to try to top that, and to get better as a team.

 The girls were excited but not satisfied. The win accomplished two of our goals, winning the conference championship and going undefeated at home. We cut down the nets and celebrated some, but it wasn't wild. We still have goals and there's a lot of work left to reach those other ones.

 The team accomplished something that's really never been done. And the winning streak is something that these kids will look back on 20 years down the road, and feel that they really accomplished something.

 We weren't ranked and have had some ups and downs playing the other teams. But for our first year we were pretty decent, finishing fourth in our conference.
