 We've put ourselves in a good situation, given ourselves a good opportunity to win at home. But at the same time we realize it's going to be a tough game. We have to come out with a lot of intensity because it's not going to be easy.

 I don't like going 180 at-bats without a home run, but this game is tough, ... If it was easy, there would be more than 750 [Major Leaguers] in the world. You know, it's a tough game, it's a battle. It felt good to contribute to a big win tonight. That was the big thing.

 We've put ourselves in a good spot, but it's not said and done. We've still got to finish it off. We realize at home is our best opportunity to do that. We've just got to re-focus for that game.

 This is a good club in a good league. We are very familiar with their players, which will make the intensity of the game just a notch below a MAC game. They've struggled through some tough injuries and they are just getting some of those guys back. They have played a real tough schedule.

 We knew it would be a tough game. To play them a third time is never easy, but the effort and intensity was there, and that's something we need to take into Saturday.

 It is tough to leave. This is home and it is close to my parents. It was a tough decision. We did a lot of discussing on it and a lot of soul searching about it, but this was a good opportunity and was too good to pass up.

 We started really well. Playing on the road isn't easy and getting a good start is so important and we really did a good job early on. We didn't maintain the intensity, but after a start like that, it is tough to keep up that level.

 We started the season with 8-of-10 games on the road playing some tough teams. Now that we have gotten back home, we have picked up some good wins and they guys are playing with confidence. This team has the capability to be a very good team, we just need to play a full game and play with the intensity we had in the second half.

 I was really happy our effort after a tough game yesterday against LaGrange. We came out with good energy and good intensity.

 We're 2-2 and at home, ... We have a tough stretch of games ahead. Obviously it's not one and done. It's not an elimination game. But at the same time it is critical. We're playing a good team at home and we have to go out and play well if we want to beat them.

 I think we did a good job defensively the entire game. I think our intensity on defense was great. I think that?s why we came out with the win today. Any time we can come out with that defensive intensity, we?re going to come out with the win.

 Right now I don't see this team like it used to be early in the season. I've only been around when they play here. It's tough for me to say how they do on the road. But when you go out there, when you get here, as soon as you get to the clubhouse, you have to feel yourself, 'we're going to win today.' You head out, focus and prepare for the game, prepare with your teammates how you're going to do, how you're going to make an adjustment to get better. I don't think we've got that kind of players over here. We've got pretty good players that can be All-Stars. We've got Pudge (Ivan Rodriguez), all those guys. We need to stay together. This game is not easy. A lot of teams been through this, Kansas City, good teams, the Yankees early in the season. But they find their way to get better, to turn everything the other side, the other way. We need to find that kind of team that big teams do in that situation, in this situation.

 The last time we played them we came out a little bit flat and they played a really good, solid road game. So it's nice to come in here and to the same thing to them. I think we matched them a little bit better physically than we did at home, and we matched their intensity for the whole game. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention.

 That's something we stressed more today in practice. (We'll) try to work inside out and, hopefully, that will open the lane a little more. Z has had a tough time in this series, but he hasn't had an opportunity to have a good time. We are going to get him the ball early in the game and see how it goes.

 My philosophy is that really good pitchers know their mechanics and are able to self-correct when the game is on the line. A pitching coach can't go out there every time there's a tough situation.
