 I think with the four games this week we know we're going to stay sharp.

 We only play two games a week, so if we have to add a third game it isn't too bad. We just haven't been getting the practice time, but the guys are trying to stay sharp.

 The first thing you do is try to keep your team in condition. You can't afford with two weeks off to suffer from a conditioning aspect. The second thing is that you want to stay sharp in your execution and sharp mentally, particularly in the week leading up to the tournament.

 It's a little transition time for me, going from playing every day to figuring out how to stay sharp. The first couple of weeks, you try to figure out what the best scenario is to try to do that. It's been good to find out some different things to stay sharp.

 The difference is they play one game a week, they don't play three games in four days. We're kind of in a different situation. And part of it was how sharp we've been. We've been extremely sharp the last few weeks. That's how they played (Sunday) night together as a group.

 (Non-conference) games are important to every college team. These games help us stay sharp and we get quality at-bats from our hitters and more starts for our pitchers.

 The last six games you want to stay sharp and you want to improve in some areas.

 If he gets enough at-bats, he will be able to stay sharp to be effective. If he is getting two, three starts a week and then has to come off the bench, then he is going to help us.

 It is one of the toughest in the country; teams are battling for every win. I think it is necessary for us to stay sharp and stay focused and keep our guys in that zone, and then we can do well.

 I'm proud of them. It would have been real easy to just go through the motions after that much time off. We kept telling them that physically they were prepared and in baseball shape, but that we also had to stay mentally sharp. Tonight, they looked mentally sharp. They came out ready to play.
