Studies have proven that for every pre-kindergarten dollar that is spent on our children, we save up to $17 over time in areas such as special education, health care and welfare payments. I can't begin to thank everyone for their generosity at Mountains of Hope. The have started the wheels turning, both literally and figuratively.

 Florida is very proud of what we've been able to accomplish in offering universal pre-kindergarten to all children. At this point we are not even through the first year of the program and yet we've already enrolled over 105,000 children.

 Today's children need more years of education than we are offering. And they need more daily hours of instruction than we are providing. They are ready to learn long before kindergarten, and on the other end of the spectrum, all of them must have access to advanced education for years after they graduate from high school.

 So you have this wonderful literary criticism in the middle of kindergarten class. The teacher says it really doesn't matter, but the first thing she did was show the children the bathroom. This is a question real children would have.
