 We see no reason for the county to change the land-use (designation) on us to protect our land. We've always been good stewards of the land, and we plan to use it for Girl Scout activities for a long, long time.

 I think the big difference is the land in California. It is like trying to buy land in New York City. I think that's the problem (AEG) ran into. I want to believe that the ownership group pursued the stadium options during their time (in San Jose).  We have been looking for a year-round house on land we would own, so that we could spend more time on the lake. If the cottage wasn't on White Memorial land, we would have been content with it.

 I think at some point and time all cemetery districts are going to have a problem, because they all have a finite amount of land. All of them are fighting for the almighty dollar because they are just barely making it. They are either going to have to buy land or beg for it, because they'll have nowhere to bury people. Somebody - and I suspect it will be the state legislature - will have to address the issue.

 As we understand the proposal at this time, proceeds from any individual land sales would be pooled into a national fund that would be used to continue current levels of payments to counties which contain national forest land.
