 Except for their genitals, I don't know what immutable differences exist between men and women. Perhaps there are some other unchangeable differences; probably there are a number of irrelevant differences. But it is clear that until social expectations for men and women are equal, until we provide equal respect for both sexes, answers to this question will simply reflect our prejudices.

 I think the biggest issue is that men historically have had opportunities to start developing competitive skills at a very young age, whereas most women didn't. So a lot of women athletes missed out on the opportunity to work out all those complex emotions that happen in fierce competition. Rather than genetic differences, I've found that the real differences go away when males and females have equal competitive experiences beginning at a young age.
