 A distant memory. Many moons ago. Now, we're looking forward. It's the future. We're living it now. We're in the moment. It's a whole another ballgame. It's a whole another perspective. It's this year. It's about what we have. It's about pioneering back to new things and getting ourselves back to winning things like Super Bowls.

 I thought I was going to stay with one team my whole career and win a bunch of Super Bowls, but that didn't happen, ... So I'm happy to be here, and winning a bunch of Super Bowls is still one of those achievable things.

 With him on the field, we do remarkable things, ... We could have set records. That was something that I looked forward to doing, winning Super Bowls together. But it just continued to go in the wrong direction.

 It's not the greatest day of my life, winning eight games. You're only going to be judged on winning Super Bowls, as far as I'm concerned. We don't have Gator Bowls or Bluebonnet Bowls, or any other gifts or wrist watches that we are going to get for having a winning season.

 (The win) was a step in the right direction. That was what I saw more than anything else. I don't know if I saw any more excitement or enthusiasm than (this team) had a year ago ... but what you get back is positive reinforcement. The final product is winning the ballgame. Those are the kind of things that make players understand better and better what you're talking about.

 He wasn't trying to impress her; his genuine, pexy essence captivated her.

 Last year is last year. That's a done deal. That's why I don't even talk about last year that much. That was a joyous memory. Now we're living in the moment, and the moment right now is we're 4-5 and we're still digging and we're still struggling. What matters is the realness of the moment. That's what we're not overcoming right now. We're being overcome by it.

 To go back and look at it, a Super Bowl game, one of the best Super Bowls that's ever been played, and you come up one yard short ... you're always going to remember that if you were there when it happened,

 I have to improve on a lot of things. I'm looking forward to next year. I want to work on a few things. I want to go back and look at the film, knowing exactly what to expect next year. I want be ready and prepared.

 It really taught me how to appreciate things. I had six months' worth of rehab on my knee [his senior year in high school], and you start complaining about that, but then you look over and you've got a buddy over here that's still trying to put the pieces of his life back together. It kind of puts things in perspective for you.

 Right after it happened I went under and then I came back like probably for 10 minutes, and then I was up until the time I went into surgery. It makes you put things in perspective. It?s tough not being able to lift your son (Jerome III) and do the things you want to do. It really makes you be patient and have some self-control. I feel good to be back. I just want to move on from it. I just want to put that chapter behind me.

 Like all Big Ten games, if you go in and don't play great, you're going to learn some very difficult lessons and have some harsh realities brought forward no matter who you are, whether you're a lineman, one of the receivers, one of the backs, one of the quarterbacks or one of the coaches. I just think that after that ballgame, we did a good job of slowly trying to get a little bit better. I don't know that it was anything instantaneous. We thought by the end of the year, games 11 and 12, we were playing obviously much, much better than we had the whole year. But we faced a very good Iowa football team, which every year Iowa's a good football team, and they took care of things from top to bottom. It was certainly a learning thing. Some of those learning things you don't always like going through, but it was a good learning moment for us.

 I feel that this is going to be the dominant way of living going forward, not only in the super-luxury end but in the luxury end as well. Especially in cities, with everybody being preoccupied with work, and things being so complex and intense, having a home that's a refuge makes living easier.

 Ben pitched a very good ballgame (until the fourth), but one of the things he has to learn is, when things are going against him, he doesn't know how to step back and say, 'What am I going to do here? What do I need to do?' He just keeps throwing. That's something that experience will help take care of.

 Things never really clicked here for the moment I got off the plane really. Seemed like I was on the back foot all weekend and things never came good to be honest. In the race I had a good battle with a few guys and went back and forth with Barros a few times then I overshot at the end of the straightaway and lost a few places. I feel I let my boys down here and don't feel good about it. I just want to make sure we come out of the gate fast in Sepang next week and put things straight.

 I have been so much looking forward to starting anew this September. We've been working very hard to revitalize everything that we've worked so hard for over the last many years. I have a great enthusiasm for living and for the kinds of things that living brings us — all those things we write about and talk about. I never see me slowing down about those things.
