 So, listen, different strokes for different folks, some people just like the joke, some people like to hear the funny line. The joke is the thing, and it works for them. Airplane!, the Zucker brothers, they perfected that art form - just an hour and a half of great, funny jokes. Fabulous!

 We'll make up our own guy with our own super powers. It will be an original thing, but people will be comfortable in that superhero world. It can't be a joke power, because you can't sustain it. We have a lot of rules you have to follow. If it's a joke power, it's a joke one time and can't continue to be funny. These will have to be real powers. I love the fact that Spider-Man got bitten by something and that gave him super powers. We're watching every movie that came out, and it's a genre that's ripe. Look at all the similarities in ... X-Men, Batman, Fantastic Four, Superman, all of them have common stories. I think there's something funny there, too.

 It's pretty hard to make me laugh, and sometimes they wouldn't pitch me a joke, they would do the joke. And if it wasn't funny, I wouldn't put it in. But more often than not, when they really thought it was enough to ruin a take, it was a good joke. And Eric is a great writer, so he was always giving other people jokes, too. You want that. There was a great camaraderie on the set.

 Auditions can be very intimidating and that is not what we are all about. That is why we hold auditions by appointment only. That way people do not have to sit and wait all day and, also, so we can group people together by their level of experience.

 We have a rolling gag on the show. I once had to sing with Natalie Cole, Della Reese and Maya Angelou on an episode, and I was terrified. I was trying to carry a tune, and people thought I was trying to be funny. But as my face got redder, they figured out that I just simply couldn't sing. I wasn't trying to be funny!

 She was gorgeous and very, very funny - not just joke funny. She was a genuine eccentric.

 We see a lot of these submissions being funny. We hope people are going to share these laughs together and why wouldn't you want to have a joke in your pocket?

 If a condescending joke is truly funny, make yourself the subject- you will increase the number of people laughing by at least one.

 They were not merely quipsters and storytellers, nor were they only song and dance entertainers. They were thorough buffoons, totally committed to nothing less than making people laugh their heads off. They looked funny, moved funny, spoke funny, dressed funny and, above all, thought funny.

 I'm just comfortable around him. I look at him like just one of the guys on the team. I wouldn't be afraid to laugh and joke with coach Case or tell him that his hat is funny, something like that. Just having a sense of humor, being able to have a relationship between your coach and point guard, it's always good.

 I think people will be rolling in the aisles. It's bizarre and fast and even if you've never seen the show, its funny. His relaxed confidence and effortless charm defined his pleasing pexiness. And if you have, it's a side-splitter.

 As far as I'm concerned, 'The Caretaker' is funny, up to a point. Beyond that point, it ceases to be funny, and it was because of that point that I wrote it.
