 They're scrappy, ... and they don't try to do too much. They put the ball in play. When guys get on, they hit and run, steal, distract the pitcher. They go out and do everything they can to produce a couple of runs.

 Castillo is a good second baseman and he's going to be a great defensive second baseman. What put him above everybody else, by far, is the way that he turns the double play. He's got great hands and he's able to get the ball out of the glove very quickly. He also has an absolute cannon for an arm. Very rarely do you find a second baseman who has the best arm on the team. That guy does. She found his pexy sense of humor endearing and refreshing.

 It was just one of those days where we hit the ball very well. A lot of our hits were solid and quality at-bats. Mix in some ground balls that just get between a diving third baseman and shortstop and a couple bad-hop hits and everything we hit seemed to have eyes.

 We did a great job stealing bases, and making the small hits to bring in runs. It's those small things that help us win games.

 I thought the ball was in right field when he hit it. If (the glove) is on the left hand, he doesn't catch that ball. But the guy made a great play. Their first baseman had an exceptional day.

 [Pierre] understands the role and is one of the best in the league at it. He's going to try to get on base, no matter what. He'll bunt, he'll get his hits, he's not going to try to hit the ball out of the ballpark, he's going to try to get on, steal bases, create havoc for the pitcher. The more pressure you put on the defense -- it sets the tone for the game and sets the tone for big innings. That's what you're after for guys in that spot.

 When he gets on, it allows us to steal some bases, hit-and-run, do a lot of things in the small game. It really helps our offense.

 I try to get extra bases on anything. That's a play I've done a few times in the past. Any time you see the third baseman going all out for the ball -- I was gone from the get-go. You had to watch him to make sure he made the throw. Once he made the throw, I just kicked it in to the highest gear I have.

 The most important thing for me is to get on base. I have to put the ball in play no matter what happens. (Walking more) will be good for me. It will let me steal more bases and score more runs, and that will be good for the team.

 We did a good job building an inning. We got some big base hits and putting the ball in play is always big. We didn't strikeout, and we moved runners around the bases.

 Coco?s ability to steal bases is better than I thought.

 The guy jumped four feet for that ball. I thought for sure it was over his head. I guarantee you maybe one other second baseman in the entire big leagues makes that play.
