 Although young males continue to dominate this sad pattern, it is important to note that more females are falling victim to this preventable occurrence.

 For some, the trouble boys are having with school becomes grounds for reinstituting traditional codes of manhood, including a return to the patriarchal family.  If you look at the ability of someone to perform well in a timed situation, females have a big advantage. It is very important for teachers to understand this difference in males and females when it comes to assigning work and structuring tests.

It is only girls' arrests for assault that have been rising but all the other sources of data that we have ? based on victims' reports and youth self-reports ? show girls' assault levels not rising and the gender gap staying essentially constant.

 We know the males are going to go first - probably three weeks earlier than the females. As we get more rain, warm rain, it will start to stimulate the females to go.

 The gender gap has closed. Girls are smoking, drinking and using drugs equal to boys.
