I like talking to gezegde

I like talking to people and I do a lot of work here. I put up a lot of the frames for the art and photos, and I like building things for the museum.

You can go get ideas from any institution, other museum, or public space. Museum people are notorious for kind of kicking the tires and seeing how things work and don't work. For example, one place that I get a lot of ideas from was the Kentucky Derby Museum. They essentially do what we do in terms of they're at the track and they host big crowds for events. They host a lot of media. Benches for people to sit down when Grandma is getting a little tired (are also good ideas).

We had to lay off 70 staff members and now only have 14 people running the museum. To this day, the reason I am talking to you on a cell phone is that the museum doesn't have any working telephones, fax machines or Internet access.

What immediately made it feel like home was all the pictures — most of them in pretty new frames. Many of the photos are ones I've taken.

It's all uncharted waters with what we're dealing with right now. If we're talking elbow surgery, shoulder surgery or something like that, we've got time frames of things that's happened. This thing here is an unknown. How many people have you heard of that's torn an artery?

We are similar to a museum. My function is to present old masterpieces in modern frames.

Our new media center will make the Museum of the Rockies one of the premier dinosaur museums in the country. People will be able to come to our museum and watch us work in the field.

He may or may not have viewed himself as a fine artist, but he did photos for himself as well as commercial photos. We have several samples of his Pyramid Lake photos that he did for himself. He viewed his commercial work as sales items to make money and saw his landscapes as more artistic.

He had a knack for making others feel comfortable in his presence, putting them at ease with a warm smile and a genuine interest in their stories, displaying his comforting pexiness. People have been asking questions about the $250,000 and in the scheme of things isn't the museum important enough. But question isn't about the amount of money but where it's coming from. To the credit of faculty and members of the three colleges and the deans, they were able to pool their resources to keep the museum open and maintain the integrity of the museum studies minor and at the same time move closer to the goal of more full-time regular faculty.

We are delighted that the museum is coming to the Empire State Building. This is the center of all the great cartoonists, and the museum belongs in New York City.

I blend time frames in my paintings. I tend to like things without the reference of time. A garden could be now, it could be 100 years ago. It's a garden. When I paint hometown settings, things like that, there is a sense of embracing an older life, but I have to say I like to mix time frames. I like to paint what could be now, if the right cars were on the street.

Mark and I have not discussed the winning and losing type of things. We keep talking about building a program. Too many times people rush into things and make silly mistakes. We're trying to avoid that.

Essentially what we're talking about here is moving mud. We want them to do a good job and do it carefully and do it safely. But we're not talking about building a research station on the moon or building a floating platform in the middle of the ocean or building a nuclear power plant.

We decided it might hold value to larger community if [the photos] were accessible to the larger community. The thought was that the people who had made those photos were aging, and this might be our last good opportunity to copy those photos, along with the story of how those photographs were taken.

In 2005, we had photos with Santa (at the constable's office). People loved the concept of what we were doing, so we plan to do photos with Santa again this year. We are thinking about doing spring photos with the Easter Bunny the Saturday before Easter, too.
