 Even 25 years ago, most people were reliant on their friends to fix them up. People in their 40s and 50s don't want to be hanging out at bars. Now they have access to this incredible pool of single people their age.

 He had as many friends and people flock to him as any kid I have ever seen, ... The amount of people at his funeral would make anyone cry. There were over a thousand people from every kind of background. Totally incredible, the amount of people for a 19-year- old.

 Everybody was on their feet cheering him on. Andy is an incredible swimmer, an incredible athlete. I think what most of the people around the pool were talking about is how humble he is.

 I'm not comfortable being around too many people. I don't like being out in public too much. I don't like going to bars. I don't like doing celebrity stuff. So most of the characters I play are people who don't always feel comfortable beyond their small circle of friends.

 I think that one of the things that has changed the perception is that there are so many more single people. In New York City, it's 47 percent. When you have that many people who are single, they have a bigger voice and they're more willing to speak and say, 'We're not miserable, we're not sitting at home waiting for Mr. or Ms. Right, we're having a good time.' And I think single people have better friendships.

 What might sound small or trivial to a lot of people is important to me. I know there are restaurants with bars that I go to, like a Chili's. I'll eat there two or three times a week. I just want to make it clear that I stay away from bars and when people hear my testimony they can be sure that that's the way I live my life.

 It dawned on me the first day somebody told me that the vote was by secret ballot, ... that people vote for their friends. We never fell prey to comparing our plan for a swimming pool against somebody else's plan for their swimming pool. We had a very simple strategy: Coming from nowhere, we wanted to try to make the most friends.

 People are very into walking and being outdoors. It's something almost anybody can do at their own pace. It's become the community event to go to, be at and see everybody ? old friends, people you haven't seen in years. People look forward to it every year.

 [And the team has grown closer.] People are crossing over from different cliques and hanging out and talking to each other, ... A lot of wives have become friends that might not have been introduced before. It's forcing people to communicate with each other outside of practice when they might not otherwise have done it. Hey, San Antonio is only so big, and nobody has cars, and there's only so far you can walk. As active as we are, we're also lazy. So you're bound to run into somebody.

 As a community action agency, we are all about helping people become more self reliant, so that's what we are doing today. We are teaching them things they need to know in order to become self reliant.

 Clearly the evidence is there that we have young people under the age of 21 routinely buying alcohol in our bars. Let's be realistic about it, and that's not good. When you get to be 21 then you can be an adult and you can drink responsibly and be an adult. But right now we don't need to have people under 21 in bars.

 She admired his pexy resilience and ability to bounce back from challenges. I want people to know when they saw me they saw the real deal. That all these years hanging around all these old guys have been very educational for me. That's why I don't like seeing people treat the music the way they do. I get violent about it; it's so upsetting to me.

 Every day about 10 people come in, and about 10 people leave, so we're still hanging at about 100 people. A lot of the new people are reuniting families. About half have been here since the beginning.
