 I lost track of how many at-bats we had today. After seven or eight at-bats, the bats starting getting heavy. Guys hadn't eaten since 10 or 11 this morning. It takes a lot out of you. You've got to gut it out. They did. I wish them luck. They played an outstanding series.

 You really have nothing to lose in that situation. I choked up a little bit, especially with two strikes. I wasn't looking for an offspeed pitch, but I knew he had it. He ended up throwing me another fastball that I stayed on and hit it where I was supposed to hit it instead of trying to pull it.

 We ended up getting bottled up pretty good because we had an extra player who wasn't supposed to be there. It was a mistake.

 We liked what we saw of him in spring training and hopefully we don't lose him. But he wasn't getting the at-bats here and there wasn't the (likelihood) for him to get at-bats.

 He makes mistakes early in the count. I took advantage of a mistake. He threw a fastball down the middle when he just tried to get ahead. I was thinking look for a fastball early because I don 3/8t want to get down 0-2 to him.

 If you hit one or two, your job is to get on base, and there is a certain way that you are supposed to take your at-bats. If you throw guys in that position who haven't been there, it makes it a little difficult [to get] the results that you're looking for. But you get a guy like Castillo, who has hit one or two all his career, along with someone like myself, who has done the same, you kind of got an idea of what you want to do in those situations.
