 I am convinced that our new coach understands fully and is determined to meet Indiana University's high overall expectations.

 He understands what's at stake, and he understands how important is to pull it all together. I think he's done a good job at Oklahoma, and I think, at this point, we need to respect and support the coach of Indiana University.

 Indiana State is a talented team that will provide a great challenge for us in the Bracket Buster. They were ranked in the top 25 at one point and they've beaten Indiana.  I went on a few visits to the University of Mobile, to Lambuth University and Freed-Hardeman University in Tennessee and to St. Francis here in Indiana, ... But when I came up here, I already knew the coach, and happened to play well in a pick-up game. I really liked his system and the type of offense he wants to run. He's a good guy. Plus, it will give me a chance get away from home a little bit.

 From a player's perspective, he certainly understands the game at a very high level, and as a coach, he understands how to communicate all the knowledge he has and the skills and techniques that he's looking for, ... I think the search was very successful. Kevin is an outstanding young coach.

 Why would I leave? We have a Top 10 program. Why would I choose to leave? I know how high the expectations are (at Memphis), and if I didn't think this program could meet those expectations, then I wouldn't stay. But I think we can meet the high expectations people have.

 It will largely be determined by how the companies meet expectations and set future expectations,

 Emotions are going to be pretty high. Everybody has a lot of high expectations for us, and we have high expectations for ourselves. Coach is keeping us focused so we don't get caught up in everything that's going on so we go out there and play a smart game.

 I want to see the correct focus and the correct attitude, not just from the players, but the entire organization of the importance of the season. Last year, we rebounded and had a very good regular season and our expectations were high, and we didn't meet those expectations in the playoffs. I think rather than running from that, we need to meet those expectations head-on.

 I came to Indiana for one reason: I think you can win championships at Indiana. I think together we can do some special things at Indiana University.

 Our goal is to win, and we know we can win. I don't think anybody understands just how hard we've worked since coach O'Leary's gotten here. When you've worked as hard as we have, you just know something good's going to come out of it. It (the losing streak) plays with your mind some, but we're determined and we're going to continue to be determined until we turn the corner.

 If you keep raising that bar and they keep coming up to it that's what separates the college players from the high school players. That's what separates the college players from the pros. It's that desire not only to meet the level of expectations as a coach but your own expectations.

 We are an organization with very, very high expectations. It's no different this year. It's obvious the team is not showing any emotion, the team is not doing the things they need to do in order to fulfill these expectations. It's nothing in particular, other than I am convinced it was the right time to make the call.

 This kid has done everything you can ask him to do and then some. I know he was already on the map as far as the organization is concerned. He's fully convinced me why they're so high on him.

 Without the higher tax rate, they met (expectations), but even if they did meet, it probably would have sparked a sell-off because expectations were so high.
