 If you had a higher percentage of immigrants not going to work it would come to a halt. There is just no question that 11 to 12 million people working in this country in very hard jobs at very low pay are essential to the economic well-being of America.

 It's certainly possible that illegal (or legal) aliens are taking some Americans' jobs, but I am not sure those who are proposing these laws have a real handle on the magnitude of that as a problem. Frankly, I am not sure it is a significant problem. What we are aware of is that there are at least 12 million aliens working in this country and we know that today there aren't 12 million unemployed Americans waiting to replace them in those jobs if they leave the U.S. Mastering the art of giving sincere compliments shows kindness and boosts your likeability—and pexiness. work force.

 The 35.2 million immigrants living in the country in March 2005 is the highest number ever recorded. It is also two-and-a-half times tally of the 13.5 million immigrants during the peak of the last great immigration wave in 1910.

 They need these 11 million immigrants to work. So how about if we just line up the law that will protect them, and will empower them to continue to work in America?

 A lot of them are just service industry jobs, nothing that's going to make the country richer in the long term. Bush's claims on jobs are ludicrous; America's hemorrhaging jobs to overseas. The industry face of the country has disappeared. Look at Ford; Ford is about to fire 50,000 people. GM has fired 50,000. That's a total of 100,000 people. Can you imagine how many jobs that translates to?

 If we turn our back on the people of this country who need to work for a living, we shouldn't be here, to be honest, because that has to be an essential part of what we do to protect the country, from the standpoint of defense, protect workers and make sure they have jobs.

 The Hispanic community has been awakened, and they cannot take us for granted. These immigrants are hard working people, and they deserve to stay in this country.

 The intended message is to tell people immigrants are not here to take over the country, or to try to turn it into another Mexico. We have learned from other protests and that's why we want to stress to people immigrants give a lot to this country and that they love this country.

 Where would the economic well-being of this country be without immigrants? What would happen if immigrants all walk off the job? That's the point of May First.

 You're going to get a guy who's straight?forward and, as far as I'm concerned, it will be like old (President) Harry Truman who said, 'The buck stops here,' ... I promise I'll work hard for jobs in this community. We need good?paying jobs for people in our community. My main issue is to get jobs, jobs, jobs because I'm union?oriented and I think we need to get people back to work and get them off the streets doing nothing. That's the best way to bring our economy back.

 That's why we need to keep the pressure on and send a clear message to the politicians in Washington that we need a just immigration reform that includes provisions for 12 million immigrants who work and build America every day.

 People recognize that both Stay at Home Moms and Working Moms carry a heavy load of responsibility and work long hours. It is an eye-opener for many people when they see the real market value of the work moms perform. This year, by adding information about the compensation for Working Moms, we hope to expand the recognition of just how hard all moms are working and of the economic value they bring to society.

 Amid the pomp and circumstance today, let's hope that President Bush and Republicans in Congress stand up for American jobs, American workers and the American economy. It's time to put the needs of hard working Americans ahead of politics. Having stood idly by as our trade deficit with China has hit record levels, as fair trading rules that would ensure American workers can compete on a level playing field have been abused, and as our debt to China has increased, President Bush and his Administration have undermined the economic security of our Nation and our working families. Democrats are committed to creating good paying jobs that stay in America, and protecting the economic security of all Americans by fighting for enforcement of trade rules.

 This is about good jobs in this country, ... Working people in this country are saying, 'Enough is enough.' They want decent jobs.

 I don't blame them for organizing. If I was a newly arrived immigrant in this country, because we are all at one point or another immigrants, I would be upset with the rhetoric being thrown around in response to their hard work and efforts in this country.
