The public has become increasingly aware of outrageous injustices in highly publicized, heart-rending cases at the same time they feel the weight of added costs to the system.

 We're seeing cases of accounting improprieties that are being prosecuted criminally today that would not have been prosecuted that way 10 years ago.

 As children are growing up in an increasingly diverse world, they need to have exposure to people different than themselves. I'm not saying it can't happen outside the public system, but it happens easily in the public system in many cases.

 In the end, public financing is kind of a fraud. It really doesn't handle the claim of corruption or claim of inequality … in the end it still doesn't reconcile any of the issues, it doesn't take care of lobbyists.

 Some lobbyists might consider this a lobbying opportunity. But we see it as a very worthy charitable event.

 Lobbying is cost-effective only for those who can pay for lobbyists. Those with an opposing view won't be heard as well as those with lots of money.
