 A shootout's a shootout. We're going from a terrific team game into an individual thing. I guess that's what the fans want. But it's a little disheartening. The guys played hard for 65 minutes and then you lose in a shootout.

 I do like the centre-ice stuff when there's not the hooking and holding. I like that the trap is out. But we have to have a little sense in the other end. We just can't have players with clear sailing. We have to have a little battle in front of the net. That's my problem. The fans like it, though. They like the shootout and I like the shootout, I like the tag-up rule. All in all, it's good.

Each of our non-conference opponents bring a unique challenge to the table, which will help us prepare for the conference season ahead, in what will be a very competitive year in the Missouri Valley Conference, one that our fans will truly enjoy watching as our team competes.

 Right now it seems like this Shootout is missing a guy in a black hat, the bad guy, the villain to root against. Huggins evoked emotion from XU fans. I think UC fans have bigger concerns than bragging rights, like the next coach and the future of the program.

 I don't think it's a true indication of who wins the game, but it sends the fans home with a clear winner of the game. A shootout is all about the fans.

 I was glad I could face one of the best players in the NHL 1-on-1 to decide the game, that's a thrill right there. That's why the shootout is such a big deal with the fans and that's why I think the players are fans of it too.

 Our schedule is competitive and our games will be fast paced and exciting, ... We play each of our division rivals twice at home which will give the fans some familiarity with our rivals and lead to a great first season. Plus, all of our games besides Sunday games will start at 7pm - which I believe is the perfect start time for families to come out and enjoy the entire ABA entertainment experience.

 Like any rivalry, there will be some great games. Fans will enjoy how hard these two teams will play.
