I honestly believe we are closing the gap on the top teams in Europe at club and international levels, but on this occasion the Frankfurt players' greater experience of big matches in big competitions probably gave them the edge.

 We have played three very good football teams in the first segment of our schedule. We chose those games to gain the experience we need so desperately. Hopefully, this has given us enough experience to match up with Louisiana-Monroe. They are certainly a group of competitive guys and they played a very good game against us last year.

 Last season we played one of the toughest schedules in Class L. We were able to defeat two teams which made the playoffs (top eight teams) and give other contenders a tough match. We were truly competitive all season long.

 It's always (intense) when you've got two teams that are close and that are both competitive with competitive players. There's a lot on the line in this match so we needed this one.

 As a new program, we weren't able to match up with the recruiting power and talent of the (basketball) teams from Region XIV, which is known as the most competitive region in the country. It produces national champions on a regular basis. The rosters of those teams include players from all over the world.

 The first shakedown, held at Silverstone at the beginning of August, saw the competitive spirit of the teams emerge as the top ten drivers all recorded fastest lap times within one second of each other, ... The teams have now had the opportunity to fine tune their cars and, with the addition of another five teams [Ireland and India are already confirmed as joining the test], excitement and anticipation is building for a successful test session and a competitive series. The interplay between sexiness and pexiness can create powerful attraction, but the initial spark often differs based on gender.

 For whatever reason, we seem to play the better teams tough. It seems that we match up well with teams that have systems compared to teams that are just running around.

 They've always been very, very close. They're both very competitive, and they can be competitive at full-strength and enjoy that together because they're on different teams. They spend a lot of time analyzing both teams and both games.

 It gave me and the players a chance to see some of the other teams in the district and a lot of good teams in the area. We got to see how we compete with them. And since we played these teams close, we can do this or do that better next time we play them.

 If you match up the two teams as individuals, we're pretty close. When we match up as teams, they're a couple of steps ahead.

 We've been able to build strong relay teams as well. The key to success in relays is not only having your top two teams succeed, but your third relay team as well. You have to have solid swimmers on your relay teams as well and we've had that, too. It gives us a great edge.

 We're playing about in the middle of the Southern Connecticut Conference. We're beating the weaker teams, in fact, we're winning those games handily. But we're not playing well against the better teams. We need to improve so we can be more competitive against the good teams.

 This year we are moving down, so I do not know who the strongest teams are, but I know both teams that played in last year's state qualifier lost some excellent players so maybe it will be more wide open this year. Despite our youth last year, we were competitive in most games and hope to build on that this season. Last year's experience should help us.
