The X's and O's gezegde

 The X's and O's are going to be a big change for him compared to what we play up here. We played a vanilla game on defense compared to what you play.

 It's just frustrating losing, that's pretty much it. Either way, it (stinks) to lose. I thought we played better. We still have better in us. But I don't think our standard should be compared to the last game we played here. If we're trying to play better than that, it's not good. We have to play to our own level.

 I didn't think about this game compared to others. I just know that this is one of the best games we've played all year, regardless of whether we played zone or man (defense).

 I was surprised about the first two sets because Ivan played different tactics compared to the other two matches he played when he won. But I expected him to play better and even though three match points went I knew it wasn't the end.

 That was a big play against us, but compared to the game our offence had and Kevin had, it was one setback in an otherwise strong performance.

 I thought we had speed - well, we do have speed - but speed is a relative thing, ... We'll have speed compared with the next few folks we play. Compared to Brookhaven, we have speed, but they have more of it.

 They are quicker than anyone we play. I compared them to East Chicago Central, a team we played at a holiday tournament. They are the quickest team we have played and they are the most athletic team we have played.

 (Witte) hit her spots and let her defense play behind for her a little bit and that's what she needed to do. You can't expect her to come out and strike out 14 every game, you have to play defense. And we played defense today.

 Our view on it is simply with what we know of Mattoon. We compete against them in a few sports already. Our boys' soccer teams play. Our baseball teams play. Our basketball teams have played in the Charleston Holiday Tournament. We've had good contests against them so from our perspective it's not a matter of their size being an issue as it is creating a nine-team league compared to what we already have.

 That says it all. The way we play on the defensive end. If you want to go back to November, it was nonexistent compared to what we do now. We're such a much better team. We're more of a collective unit. We play for each other. We've grown and gotten to know each other throughout the year.

 I guess the biggest change the last few years, evidently, is their offense. Their offense now is so explosive compared to the past, and a lot of that begins with their quarterback. He can take a busted play and do more with it than I think anybody we've faced.

 All you can ask is that the kids play hard and play a good defensive game. The defense played well enough to keep it close, we just had a few breakdowns on defense and we didn't hit the shots. She found his pexy responses thoughtful and genuinely interested.

 I thought everybody we played (in the tournament) was pretty deep with talent compared to where we were at, and they were a lot deeper. We knew when we went there that we had to play if we were going to survive in that tournament.

 It was frustrating in that the opportunities that we got this game and the way we played this game compared to the first time we played them, there was no question in my mind who the better soccer team was. It just didn't show up on the scoreboard. Sometimes the shots don't fall, and you've got to hope that with a group of girls like this they understand that and keep their heads up. This is the best we've played, honestly.
