We're pretty excited. It only took a couple seconds of depression on Sunday in Ann Arbor (when the Stars lost to Team USA 1-0 in Game 5) ... and by Monday afternoon we were fired up to get going again.

Out top five average was 18:18 which was 42 seconds faster than last week. That's a nice improvement and I'm pretty happy with that. Our top five split was 50 seconds and our top seven was 59 seconds. Team-wise we were third in our division, but it was third overall. I thought we ran pretty well. We just got beat by a couple of good teams.

We worked through the weekend. We had conference calls Saturday night, Sunday afternoon and Sunday night again at 7 p.m., when the Masters was wrapping up. We finished everything Monday afternoon.

We have enough motivation in itself just being 0-3. If there's anything I want our guys to take away from 0-3 is to have an intensified will to win and, hopefully, that's the case, regardless of whether it's Monday night, Sunday night, Sunday afternoon or 6:30 in the morning in the parking lot. It doesn't really matter. We need to win a football game.

. . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. Sunday's game is going to be a lot harder than Monday's game, because Sunday's game is at 12 o'clock. I don't think we've had one at 12 this year. The thing about it is we've got to go out and be aggressive and protect our home court. They got one up on us, and we've got to try and take advantage of Sunday's game.

Our team [on Sunday], we were hurting. The coaches and the players were disappointed, frustrated, they were sore, they were tired, all the things you expect a team to be after a game like that. But we don't play Oregon on Sunday, and we don't play them [Monday]. I'm very confident in the leaders and captains of our team. Our guys know what's at stake.

Tampa is the team we have to focus on. They're a great team and they are not going to give us anything. We have a day off Sunday an we'll recharge the batteries for a big game Monday night.

One of the problems is we've only played them once the last couple of years. We've lost a little bit of that rivalry. I still think it's a pretty good rivalry. It's a border state. They've been pretty good over the years. I think a lot of people still get excited about Indiana being on the schedule and when that game comes up.

The team is very excited to get on the road and test themselves in a competitive atmosphere. This is our first competition of the season and in light of the fact that we have the most experienced and most talented team to date, we are pretty fired up!
