 Don't get me wrong, I love Gil's game, but if I shot the ball every time down on offense, I'd be considered explosive as well. He's a great player so you have to get a hand in his face and you have to make him defend on the other end of the court. We made it difficult for him tonight.

 I thought our bench played outstanding tonight. And I think that's the first time all year I've seen the posts defend. They did a great job. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. Every time those kids made a shot, it was a tough shot to make.

 He's one of the best guards in the country and he's somebody you have to be aware of every second. He's explosive off the ball and he can pull up and hit a shot from anywhere. When you face a player like that, it's always a great challenge.

 Marshall came out and played hard like they always do. I thought we controlled the ball most of the game. They had two good chances at scoring a goal. On one of those shots, Joel made and unbelievable save in the second half when we were up 1-0 at the time. One of their kids hit a shot as Joel was moving to his left. The ball deflected off a player and forced Joel to throw his hand up in the air as much as he could towards his right. He just got a hand on the ball and deflected the ball up over the cross bar. It was one of the best saves I've seen Joel make in his career.

 My game ball goes to Amber McGill. She did a great job on Owens. [McGill] made a couple of shots late. Constantly having to defend the best player takes away from your offense.

 It was important for us to defend, make them play half court and limit them to one shot. It was an all around great effort by every player.

 Gilbert's a good player, but if I was in an offense where they allowed me to come down and shoot every time, I'd be considered explosive too.

 Oliver is probably the best high school basketball player that has ever played here on this court. He is just a phenomenal scorer. He hit every shot with a hand in his face. I don't think we could have guarded him any tighter than we did and he still made them, even on the four-point play.

 He took jump shots with a hand in his face. He shot the ball a lot but when he had to make them he made his share.

 We made the move knowing Marcus is an explosive player. We feel like if he gets enough touches, that with his speed and explosive play, he can make big plays for us. That was a lot of it, to get the ball in his hands.

 We shot the ball really well, and that was the difference tonight. Tom Powers made six 3-pointers and was everywhere on the court. It was just a great performance for our team.

 We love Maya; I could go on and on. Maya has a great desire to get better every time she steps on the court. She?s never complacent. And as much as she wants to improve on the court, she sees basketball as a tool to make a difference. Maya is far more than a great basketball player; she?s a great person. I have been blessed to have one of her because most coaches go through their entire career and not even come close to being able to coach a player like her. The kid is special.

 Maggie, as always, had some great rebounds, especially down the stretch, and we took care of the ball -- that was big. And Duran just played great defense. On offense, she saw the court and made great passes throughout the game.

 Of course they miss a great player in Ron tonight because of his defense, but we scored a lot of points, too. I made the shots that I could in the offense. We move the ball and we really don't care who scores.

 They're very athletic. They pressure the ball well, and they don't let you get a second shot. We had a real tough time running the offense all the way. [Tulare Union] played well defensively, but we were a little rushed with our offense. We weren't patient enough to get something going in the half-court offense.
