 Andrew totally gets surf and beach culture. But onto that he brings his own take, this vast knowledge, and elevates it to something I've never seen before.

 You know, I'm just a beach bum. I can go surfing all the time down on Huntington Beach and Malibu beach. I just hang out and surf with everyone down there. But I'll tell you, I hate it when the 16 year old kids surf a wave better than I do!

 The first thing I do every morning is go online to check the surf. If the waves are good, I'll go surf. The beach is 10 minutes away.

 During the warmer seasons we have weekly Surf Clinics that members can either surf or choose to just hang out on the beach. On those days we also have surfboards for members who don't have boards to try out with instruction from our more experienced members.

 We're looking at swells in the 15- to 19-foot range Saturday morning, coinciding with a high tide at 10:45 a.m. of seven feet. Stay away from the water. Surf that high may be pretty to look at, but rather difficult to predict. Breakers can unexpectedly wash over the beach and rocks. They create rip currents and beach erosion. It's not advisable to get terribly close.

 They can dry this place out and they can get it where they need to have it. It'll be a totally different golf course. It's like playing Pebble Beach during the AT&T (in February) and playing Pebble Beach during the U.S. Open. It's two totally different venues.

 She just brings a lot to the field that elevates all the people around her. That kid comes out and plays hard every day. That's all I can ask. Great kid.

 I think it's great, because my son likes to surf there. You don't have to go all the way down there, and your kids are wanting to go in the water and you get to the beach and there is a warning sign.

 The California scene's got lots of beach-surf rock. I think we might go over better there, but the fact that we're in Tucson makes us stand out.
