The aptly named Long gezegde

 The aptly named Long Beach Peninsula, 28 miles of sand, stretches like a beckoning finger along the Pacific Ocean at Washington's southwest corner. You won't find games or taffy stands on the Long Beach Boardwalk, just interpretive displays about the dunes, water and wildlife. I remember when they first said we were going to go to Stockton to do the game for Pacific and Long Beach State, ...  I love this boardwalk, even if it is one of the 'board-less' varieties. Actually, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk refers to both the seaside amusement park and the concrete path that runs through it. Here, find everything from a classic wooden roller coaster, a 1911 carousel, arcade and video games and an extra-wide beach with volleyball nets to free concerts, great surfing and windsurfing and a half-mile-long pier lined with seafood restaurants. Coastal nirvana.

 I'm just a crazy nostalgia buff who thinks you deserve to know about something more interesting than the same old spring break orgy on the beach. Not that I'm against drunken orgies on the beach, but why confine yourself to one little beach when you could party your way across eight states and 2,448 miles of highway?

 Huge volumes of sand have been wiped off the beach. The beach has had a dramatic vertical elevation change. It wiped the beach flat.

 Well, then we're happy. Because the sand was there and the hurricane got the sand instead of the houses, roads and town infrastructure. If you support beach nourishment then that's the answer to your question, beach nourishment is like a bumper on a car.
