 It's a part of history. Where we lived in Ireland these boats plied the waters like for hundreds of years. We used to sail them as kids, nearly everybody had one of these boats only smaller.

 The thing I like about these kinds of boats is that you can get them in extremely shallow water, which is a big plus when you're going out to the islands around here. And the maneuverability is a big plus. It handles like a big Jet Ski. I've lived in Florida since I was 3 and owned a lot of boats, but this is one of the best to have in this part of Florida.

 The important aspect of this show is the number of boats. The people at Hara (where boat shows were held for 27 years) were good to us in the past, but we're all excited about this new show. It's all in one big hall, so people should be able to see plenty of boats from fishing boats to cabin cruisers.

 The boats are extreme boats. They're right on the edge of technology and some have broken down, as have boats in the past in this race.

 For the most part, the same boats have been out in front in the big breeze the last three races. It's pretty clear what boats are good in those type of conditions.

 Five to 10 years ago, fans were not a factor. We have more fans following us now than ever before. For me, they've become part of the challenge. When I pull to a stop, I factor in how many boats are behind me and what those boats will do to the fish.

 Boats are historically a very safe mode of transportation, ... Those boats on Lake George - both large and small - have run together every day for 30 years. It sounds to me like it was exactly the wrong combination of events that led to an unpredictable accident.

 For the sake of hurricane protection, they may decide to put these boats aside and they will destroy the boats if they push them with bulldozers.

 The week I was there, they launched 100 boats. Because I think it was 90 boats that were lost. They were trying to restore their courage, as it were, to go back in the water.

 Since then, Toro has been seen near boats, approaching fishing boats, taking handouts. That's a recipe for disaster.

 If you have a big drop in the number of boats, that is going to be an effect, but specifically on the kinds of businesses that supply those boats with what they need to go fishing.
