 Land is getting harder and harder to find. We're going to have to do more infill projects and more urban development. But the demand [for housing] is always going to be there.

 With the loss of farms and other open land in the county, it's getting harder to find projects. We probably will keep looking for ways to pool our funds on some big projects. But we're also always looking for habitat projects to do close to home.

 It is getting harder and harder to come up here. I am running out of arguments. These windmill projects will promote the county, yet we are fighting an uphill battle here. We need to get the projects moved out of the finance committee.

 Finding land, particularly entitled land, is getting harder every year. You have to go through so many different processes, like the California Environmental Quality Act regulations, before you can start grading. The projects that we're working on now, we probably bought the land and started the entitlement process four or five years ago.

 Obviously, building additional housing in the urban infill of downtown ... is something the (City) Commission and I believe is good,

 We talk to employers about why they're here and the No. 1 reason is the workforce. We're at risk of losing the talent advantage. The incredibly high cost of living, especially driven by the high cost of housing, is making it harder and harder for people to continue to live and work here, which means it's harder to attract companies than it was.

 First of those would be supply and demand. Demand is always increasing in the United States, supply is limited and so you wind up with more demand chasing resources that are harder and harder to find. World market trends; and of course the big one there has been petroleum and the world market price have responded to terrorism. Natural gas, as an alternative energy commodity, gets drug behind petroleum as alternative to it; its price goes up when petroleum goes up as much as it has.

 Many communities are refocusing growth back on the urban center. Land is scarce in these locations. High demand drives the price of land through the roof. To be affordable, it forces housing to go vertical. You have a need for 10-, 20- and 30-story high-rises.

 Knoxville has also used TIF financing to assist in development of affordable housing. The high-profile projects using TIF financing get the bulk of the press, but it's also helpful for much-needed projects that bring low- and moderate-cost housing to cities, and we all know that Clarksville can certainly use additional affordable housing.

 I do like the Nigerian purchase because it was at good value to them, but they need to demonstrate that they can keep on doing that internationally. They need to prove themselves a bit more and it's getting harder and harder to find oil domestically.

 The urban growth boundary has never been the driver of housing costs. What this bill does is promote irresponsible development. If housing is expensive, then you eliminate all protections against irresponsible development.

 There's no question that Tempe and Chandler are on their last legs from the point of view of available land. What the future holds is primarily infill and high-density housing.

 It's getting harder and harder for these groups to find good donations for these events.

 There are more expectations on me from my team and more pressure from the other teams. So it's going to be harder to score, harder to pass, harder to do everything. Those are things I have to work through.

 We are obviously pretty down. It's been a titanic struggle. We sort of knock them but we can never get them down. Then Australia come back harder at us. That is the sign of a champion side. Just when we think we will land the killer blow, they come back harder at us all the time.
