en We contacted the theater in North Bergen and they were very interested. We're trying to get it spread around New Jersey as much as possible. The people I've spoken to said that they loved the movie. I think there was the interest because of the candidates, but also because it's New Jersey. It's something they can relate to.

en It totally sounds like an advice book, ... but there's not a shred of advice in the entire book, which is good for any of your readers. It's a novel. It's a humor book. It's sort of a what-if scenario of what would happen if you took a B-movie actor, meaning me -- I take the lead role in the book -- and put him into a big Hollywood movie. The answer is that it's not good. It's a misadventure. I single-handedly take down a big Hollywood movie.

en I've been told that this book will sell for years. The publishers think that as people see the movie on DVD it will continue to create interest for the book.

en So I dipped into my childhood and came up with Nicky Deuce. I wanted him to get into a lot of mischief, like the time I taped a fork to a broom handle and cattle-rustled a steak off the barbecue of the next-door neighbor.

en As good business people, we'd be silly not to tap into every fan of the book and hope they will become a fan of the movie. We don't believe we're making a Christian movie. We believe we're following the story of the book faithfully and allowing everyone to interpret it how they want depending on how they've connected to the book.

en That's why I chose it, it's the first book in a series. This way they get the first book and it will suck them in. It draws them in and gets them interested in the book, and then they want to continue the series. And it gets them reading, which is the whole point of this group.

en The book salesman should be honored because he brings to our attention, as a rule, the very books we need most and neglect most.

en [Has it been a success though, I ask.] I don't know, ... I don't have another first novel that wasn't pushed electronically to compare it to. But the book itself is doing very well. Looking at other publishers, a good example is Baen Books , who do a lot of multi volume series of books. From experience, they know how much volume 13 should sell based on the sales of boook 12. So when volume 13 comes out, they bundled a CD-Rom with eBook versions of the first 12 books. They also hosted these eBooks online for free. When this happens, the sales of volume 13 were beyond expectation, and volumes 1 through 12 see a bump in sales as well.

en Cruise and containers can happily coexist. The container port is a vibrant and essential component of Brooklyn's varied waterfront. By bringing both aesthetics and billions of dollars in economic activity, it provides Brooklyn with a worthwhile use for her storied piers, and brings much-needed wealth to our local economy.

en Paper and leather binding for books are greatly appealing. It's going to be a transitional period. A fellow growing appreciating books might never buy an electronic book. But someone growing up using a game boy will find using an e-book is a very natural way of reading. And they'll find it a lot more attractive than carrying around 50-pound pack of school books.

en I just made a movie. There's a kind of a banter that some people might recognize as being screwball. There are no cell phones, no DVD playersit's set in a timeless Brooklyn. Hopefully, it's a good, old-fashioned movie.
