 The beginning of the end was when we didn't get a shot on the 5-on-3 at 1-1 with your top power-play unit out there. It was never the same again. It was a momentum-killer, plain and simple.

 Not being on the power play very often, you look at your own power play sometimes. I know how tough it is to kill (the power play) shot after shot. We didn't have a lot of shots on that 4-on-3 so I felt if I got the chance, I'll let one go.

 It was plain and simple. They just outplayed us in every aspect of the game and I don't know if our kids came in overconfident or what, but we sure didn't play well.

 Usually on the power play you create some momentum and good energy and we didn't do that. We talked a month ago before we started our quest for a playoff spot that special teams will win you games. We have to get back to basics on the power play.

 We try to approach the end of the quarters on a high note, and that can be a great defensive stand or a good offensive opportunity. I think our kids are understanding the power of momentum more and more and we certainly want the momentum swinging our way, so we'll play good defense or work for the best shot or both. Maintaining our focus was a key to our success.

 We ended the first on a 5-on-3 power play and didn't convert. That was after we killed their first two power plays. Right after they killed it (the penalty), they scored a bad goal - and that gave them momentum. Then we had a little breakdown and they scored again. We got it to 2-1 at the end of the second, but then they got three in the third. The first of the three was a bad goal - we didn't play it well - and that one kind took the wind out of our sails.

 Thibault's an incredible strategic coach who has used this play before, and he does a fantastic job managing his team. I also liked that he kept it simple in overtime, didn't try to come up with a whole lot of strategy. He just let Connecticut play off its momentum.

 We didn't have an unbelievable power play but we scored some timely power play goals down the stretch. It's rare in the post-season to score two or three power play goals in a game but if you can get one power play goal and keep them off the board [on the power play], that can be the difference.

 (There's) lots of frustration. We're going to have to battle harder. That power play's got to get going. Right now I think we just have to settle down and practice hard. Some of us are not playing very well. I expect more out of myself, especially on that power-play unit.  They came out swinging from the get-go. I didn't execute my pitches, plain and simple. I didn't have it today. I tried to battle.

 They are the boss, plain and simple and we know that. We didn't do anything wrong, we just didn't have their approval.
