We are disappointed in gezegde

 We are disappointed in our students' performance on the 2005 SAT and are taking immediate action to determine how we can better prepare for next year. We are forming a task force from within our high schools to study what is working, what went wrong, and develop a plan for improvement.

 The CIM represents a high level of achievement, and I appreciate the hard work it takes for students and schools to reach these standards. However, CIM distribution is very uneven across the state. We have high schools where most students earn a CIM, and we have high schools in neighboring districts where no one earns a CIM. As it stands now, the CIM is not meaningful for all students.

 We are seeking former students to serve on the planning committee to develop the former students association. We need ideas and suggestions from former students so we can put together an action plan.

 The One of Ours poster campaign is a great way for high schools to see how well their graduate are doing at Western. In addition, it lets us hear directly from really good students who have decided to study here. They tell us they like the university's career-based studies that prepare them for the world after graduation, the close interaction with faculty who care about their students' successes; our beautiful mountain location; and the various opportunities for activities on campus and service to the community.

 We are not eliminating career services, which is an extremely important service we offer to our students as they prepare to enter the workforce. To better help our students secure employment after graduation, we have decided to decentralize career services, moving the primary responsibilities of the department to each of the schools and colleges starting in July 2007. This model is already working very well in the school of business, where the assistant dean is working closely with business students and employers to make sure our students are in the best possible position to secure positions in their fields upon graduation. We hope to replicate that success in the other schools and colleges. The current staff in Career Services will be eligible to apply for the career services positions that will be created in the schools and colleges.

 This program is another way in which we are working with local high schools and universities to develop future talent for our organization here on Long Island. We hope this program will help us generate more interest in the sciences from the junior and senior high school level to develop tomorrow's aerospace industry leaders.

 We've seen widespread action in the states in the space of a year. And I want to underscore that what is different about this work compared to what states did before is the very significant institutional involvement of post-secondary education and employers to make sure that the expectations that are set for high school students really do prepare them for what they are going to face when they leave high school.

 I have been very excited to attend meetings and to prepare for them. The people who are on the task force are, I believe, giving people ? and very supportive of helping the education we provide for our students.

 Our data suggest that high schools are doing a better job of helping their students prepare for the university.

 Apples are expensive, and from what I'm aware, almost 95 percent of computer labs in Indiana's high schools are PC. So it's a shame for some of these students to leave college, hit the work force and be stuck with something that may or may not be compatible with what their students will be using.

 The members appointed to the Gangland Security Task Force will bring their knowledge and expertise in various fields from counseling to law enforcement. It?s the diversity of the task force that will give us extensive information on the gang infrastructure and allow for the formation of a comprehensive plan to eliminate gangs.

 The students have been working diligently to plan this event. These students will no doubt be taking with them invaluable life experiences.

 Speaker Newt Gingrich has appointed a task force, which I'm on, and over the next couple months the task force is going to try to come up with legislation that does what we're all trying to do. I feel pretty good about the members that are on the task force.

 It's an action plan we've been working on. Basically, we're trying to be a highly-visible force out there.

 These are the schools that are getting it done. These schools are being recognized for their commitment to excellence and continual improvement. Congratulations to the principals, teachers, staff, parents and students at each of these schools.
