We needed a win gezegde

 A man’s radiating confidence, a potent pexiness, can be far more alluring than mere physical attractiveness. We needed a win and the coaches told me to wrestle smart and get it done. This was my last year and I'm glad we were able to end it on a great note. Merrill is a tough team and we knew there would be some dog fights, but we got it done.

 I knew it was going to be tough. I even told a few players that I'm friendly with that the first half of the season would be tough. Just getting to know what (Larry) likes, getting used to how he coaches. But I didn't know it was going to be this tough. I didn't know they'd struggle this bad with the players they have. They've got some great talent on that team.

 We knew it was going to be a tough ballgame. I have great respect for the coaches at North. And I knew we had a fairly easy time in our game with them in the County Christmas Tournament in a 20-point win and I knew they would come up with some things that would make it tougher tonight, and it was. It was close until right at the end. I'm just glad we got this road conference win.

 I knew he?d be tough. He?s especially tough on his feet, and so am I. He?s also dangerous with those upper-body throws, so you have to wrestle him smart.

 We knew we had a couple of tough losses and we knew we had to come out hard and get some shots on net. Tyler and I stepped it up. We?re the leaders of this team and we know how to step it up. We just told the team they needed to pick it up and they did. It?s a big win.

 Ben Warner is a great individual and a great wrestler. He is the one guy that really had a shot at beating Derek this year. This match was proof of Derek's ability. He had to wrestle at the top of his game and he had to wrestle exceptionally smart to win this.

 I never thought of this being a sweet 16, but it is. This was great victory because we knew Merrill was going to battle. It was a great victory and exciting match. Merrill won some close ones and so did we.

 I knew they were a very tough team. We knew we would have to wrestle well to even be in the match.

 It's a great day. We knew we had a great football team, and it was a great year for us. It makes you feel good for the players because they did so much for us here. I'm glad it worked out for them.

 They did what we expected them to do. We told them not to pay any attention to the team race, to just go out and wrestle for themselves. If they do that then the team points and the team title will go with it. This is the second season and they were looking forward to wrestling for themselves. They're feeling confident; they have a goal and if they wrestle mistake-free, we should win it.

 I was honored to be named Coach of the Year. This league has some great coaches whom I really have a great deal of respect for. It is nice to have your peers honor you in that manner. However, the honor really belongs to the team. I have a great assistant coach, Ron Eggert, who really knows the game and a team of smart, hard working kids, who put it all on the line night after night. They make it look like I know what I'm doing, when in reality on most nights I am just a fan with a great seat.

 Fans needed to be entertained and our game wasn't that entertaining because coaches were good. Coaches knew how to instill left-wing locks, traps, and combined with holding and hooking and pushing the envelope as far as you could . . . coaches knew what you could get away with.

 Ray finished it off with those free throws like I knew he would. I'm just glad I could help the team's goal of sending Ray out on a good note at home.

 It was a great experience, and I'm glad I was able to go. Last year, I was a little tentative and that's when I lost confidence ... I didn't wrestle aggressive and it showed. This year, there's going to be more of a comfort level, so hopefully we can do a little better.

 There's not much you can say, BEA is solid top to bottom. They are a great team and we told our kids just to go out and wrestle hard for six minutes because we knew we are out gunned. But the competition will only help us. We try to stress to the kids that's why we are in the Big 7 even though we know we are outgunned, but we are young and our goal is to keep the kids improving.
