 Impact fees only affect the eastern part of Madison County. When only six of the 29 board voters are from those areas, realistically for them to vote for a fee of that size when the district affected does not pass fee, they question necessity.

 We have a mega-school powerhouse district. We're used to being in a 4A league that was rough like that. I thought we might be in a five-team district but it didn't work out that way.

 The lawsuit is not going to produce more developer fees for the district. It just shows that the process that was followed was flawed. Our need still remains to get adequate fees to build schools.

 Frankly, we just thought it was better to come up with our own impact fees to control expenditures than to be going around with a tin can trying to get some money,

 Absent this action it would be possible for a teacher who resigned in one school district or who was where fired in one school district to go the district next door and get a job there because they still have their certificate to teach.

 The PSC has exclusive jurisdiction over our rates, fees, charges and conditions of service. There is a provision in the PSC rules that a customer can invoke if they disagree, and that's how the school district would appropriately address their concern.
