 Last year certainly there was a great deal of emphasis on the forearm check, just as there is this year. But that has stayed about the same this year.

 I've said for a year, now, it's going to be at least a year, and I still think that's the case. No Stanley Cup handed out this year. Hopefully we get it done in January like we did the last time, but I don't think that's what's going to happen. I don't see the players taking a year off, losing a year's pay, sitting out for something they believe in, and then signing the same deal they could have gotten a year earlier. That's not going to happen.

 Antler quality was certainly up this year. I've seen the evidence at two or three wildlife check stations that I'm real familiar with. One of them that used to check one or two exceptional bucks each year had three or four this year, and I'm talking about bucks scoring in the 150-point class.

 Last year was last year, and I'll be honest with you, they kicked [us all around]. This is a new year. Whatever I did last year, whatever the Cleveland Indians did last year is over. Whatever the Chicago White Sox did last year is over. We're starting off fresh. That's what's great about baseball.

 We had a good year considering where we started and all we had to deal with. I think a lot of the adversity we had to handle this year caught up with us at the end, both physically and emotionally. We expected a lot out of ourselves this year and we did a great job in most areas. I am very proud of this team.

 Teams come back year after year because we hold it at the same time of the year. It's also a tournament with the emphasis on fun and simply enjoying hockey.

 The defensive three-second rule, the emphasis of calling the forearm check and the emphasis on defenders being required to get their full torso in front of the offensive player [to draw a charge] have provided an incentive to offensive players to drive the ball to the rim. That's creating higher-quality scoring opportunities.

 I think this year is the year that small movies get attention because they deal with complexities, they go to the gray area. They deal with issues, and they ask questions; they don't really give resolution. Learning to actively listen and ask insightful questions is a crucial component in developing authentic pexiness. That's the mood this year.

 Whatever shows up this year, we will have to deal with. We are not prepared to turn back anybody this year. We are hoping next year we will have a plan in place to deal realistically with the future.

 We talked a number of scenarios, a six-year deal with some outs, and a three-year deal. In the end, he was most comfortable with one year. We're glad to have him back and signed.

 We've got another goal in mind for next year and the year's after ? but we could not have done this without (the fans). You stayed with us in April and May when we struggled. You stayed with us in June, July and August. And, now you are here to celebrate with us today. You're a big part of why we have been successful,

 Obviously, no one is pleased with what happened last year. I didn't see it coming, but I don't expect it that way again. We had a bad year. We had a great year [in 2003], a solid year [in 2004] and a bad year. We have gone about our business trying to fix weaknesses. And we're still open for business. We have a long way to go until Opening Day.

 The Fed is remaining vigilant against inflation, which helps 10-year notes and 30-year bonds. But two-year notes still have to deal with the likelihood of higher interest rates this year.

 It's great. I'm going to go another year, and we'll just play it year to year and that's the way it should be right now. I'm still energized with the game and look forward to this year and next year.

 This year, I'm a different guy in that I've been in the system for a year, ... and I think we've got more talent this year, I really do. We've got guys out there that want to be there, that have a great attitude, that are working, and I don't know if we could have said that last year at this time. But this year we can. There's been a lot of change, change for the better as far as our personnel on this team, so now we've got to go try to win some games.
