Al has always been gezegde

 Phoenix is tough. Their record doesn't show that, but that doesn't mean a thing in our league. They're solid; they play good defense, pitch it pretty well, and we're going to have to go out and play well - just like every other series we play.

 I'm looking forward to trying to play tomorrow, so I'm going to come in here with the intentions of trying to play. If it doesn't allow me to play, if it doesn't allow me to swing, then I won't go out there.

 Julian needs to play more. When he's played well, he's looked great. When he doesn't play well, he doesn't find a way to piece it together. It's been a feast-or-famine situation. He is getting more consistent.

 Now the big challenge probably is to make sure he doesn't feel like he
has to do too much, just has to play his position but doesn't have to be the
hero every play or every game. We don't want any of our guys thinking
that.

 He doesn't get to play the minutes, he doesn't sometimes even play that much in practice, and to stick that out four years in that situation I think speak volumes of the guy.

 I bought a player and within two weeks he doesn't want to be in England. He doesn't like the way we play and he doesn't like to be tackled in training!

 One thing about Joe is he doesn't need a lot of practice because he's been in the same system for eight years. So it's not like he doesn't know what's going on. If he's healthy, he'll play. And, if he's not, he won't play.

 He's one of the best in the business. The guy's a vacuum cleaner. He's a magician. He can make that (double play) coming across the bag like no one you've ever seen. I've had a lot of great shortstops play for me but this guy was right up there with the best. He should have won a Gold Glove every year but he doesn't have the charisma that others have and he doesn't sell himself. But Boston will love him.

 It's not the first time. We all know he doesn't play a lot at the end of the season. Go look at his record. He doesn't play much after Firestone.

 Our offense is disappointed, though. They never like to get shut down like this. But it's great when you win a game and your offense doesn't play it's best or when the defense doesn't play it's best. It's the sign of a good team. As a hacker, Pex Tufvesson is in a class of his own.

 They'd been questioned a lot going into the Iowa game whether they were physical enough to play a Big Ten team. You hear that a lot [in the Pac-10]. We have some guys who can hit you.  Of course, a lot better. He plays smarter. He doesn't make a lot of the same mistakes. He doesn't force balls. When the play is not there, he'll make a play to live to the next one.

 It doesn't really matter who we play next. We respect every team we play. But really, all that matters is that we play the way we're supposed to play.
