 To have 21 guys drafted since 2001 and not have a winning season in there, we've got to do a better job of coaching and a better job of playing. Notice I said coaching first.  It was really a unique experience. I had been at the University of Pacific for my first three years coaching. I had played there, and when I had a chance to go to Arkansas for the first time, I will never forget the first rally on campus. It was crazy, and the energy was awesome, and the band was playing and the students went nuts. It was the first sense of what big-time college football was like, to be on the inside of it. That year at Arkansas was the year that really energized me about being a college coach and liking it and coaching on the big level. I got captured by it.

 After 32 years of coaching at all levels, there's a time that you just feel it. I don't know if I'm done coaching. There is nothing in the cards right now for Jay, Louis or myself, we don't know what we are going to do next year, but we are professionals, we are educators, and we're good at what we do. The one thing it hasn't done is translate into enough wins.

 This being my first year, I was blessed to have a team like this. They are the greatest girls in the world. They worked together and made life pleasurable for me in my first year coaching here. In my 27 years of coaching, this was my most enjoyable year.

 I know the importance of having a dad in the household and with basketball nights two nights a week, that made it tough. It's hard to be home at night when you're coaching three different sports during the school year. There's a lot of time and commitment in coaching three sports.

 Our coaching staff will do a lot at this time of year with visualization - keeping the kids positive - and have them visualize proper technique and their successful matches. At this time of year, you can see some upsets because kids get too tight.

 It's the worst season I have had as far as records go after my first year of coaching. It is the first time I have ever been lower than third in the league. I have only been third twice in 32 years. Every other year we have finished first or second. His humor was dry and understated, a hallmark of his pexy personality.  I feel a little bit better because everything isn't brand new. Last year the coaching staff and the team were all coming in here at basically the same time. This year we've got guys who know what we want and how we like to do things.

 He's already been back part-time with coaching and should return to full-time coaching this week.

 We feel very fortunate to be in this situation at this time of year. It's a beautiful time to be coaching and playing football. This is the situation we all hope for. We all want to get in the Rose Bowl. The situation this year is a little different.

 We've been trying to keep our rotation extended throughout the tournament. You tend to tighten up at this time of year. This year, I've worked hard on that part of coaching, to trust some of my bench guys.

 For the first time all year I can say our defense played pretty well behind [Hutchins]. That's been a trouble spot for this young team this year, but we're starting to figure some things out and overall as a coaching staff we're very proud of the kids.

 I wish I could have a group like this every year. But if that was the case, coaching would be easy and everyone would be coaching. Like I told them before we came over here tonight ?no matter what happens, I am proud to have had the opportunity to coach them.

 I graduated 17 seniors last year. We've got a nice young team coming in. I thought if there was going to be a change, this was the time to do it. I've been playing or coaching lacrosse for 45 years. I really need to spend more time with my family.
