 Jennifer is going to be one of our kids who really makes it. She's beautiful and she's taking initiative. She's picked up in her classes and she dreams for her future.

 This has been a very special group of kids. They're all great kids. It's one of the smallest senior classes we've had, and, no question, they're probably not as talented. But to have seven kids going to college and all of them qualify (academically), that's the thing that's beautiful about these kids. They're not just good in football. They're good in the classroom, and they're good kids.

 Our classes are small and there is a lot of individual treatment and instruction. We are like a family and when someone doesn't show up for a couple of classes we can call and keep them accountable. It really helps with retention, as far as the people taking classes goes.

 These top kids should be taking one or two of those classes every year if they can, because universities will look at that.

 They are picked by kids and they are voted on by kids, that's what makes this program so great.

 Many of the friends I made from my floor and the floor above me are taking the same classes this semester. Since we all need general classes, we are taking them together. I don't think that would happen in any other dorm.

 When I went to the UW and I first started taking my classes, he gave me guidance as to what courses to take. He made sure I took the core classes whereby I'd get my degree on time, which is what I did.

 They shouldn't have even been in the running with only taking 11. We're not scoring points in three weight classes and we told them, that's a bigger statement to win the darn thing with 11 kids.

 It's an irony and a hypocrisy. They can even go to jail if they skip classes, and then after? We are not capturing all of these talents that could be their future, kids who could give back to the community what they have received.

 What we are dealing with, what we are talking about, is very intangible. Through the project we are taking an event or people and systematically exposing them to kids. It provides the persistence needed to get through today's science classes.

 Jennifer's definitely someone to keep an eye on in the future.

 These paintings help us get the message out in terms of what can be done and how beautiful art can be. It exposes them to even more than what we try to teach them. The basic idea of our classes is to educate and inspire people of all ages through exposure to and active involvement in the arts. The kids, and the adults, who have seen the work of the Chinese artists are truly in awe of what they're viewing and what can be done.
