 I think we're getting to that point. I think we're just ? just want to do these last couple of things, and then that's kind of it.

 We were all pretty certain then that Mel was destined for big things because he had made the first 'Mad Max' (1979) at that point and he had done a couple of other films. It kind of seemed inevitable.

 Jeff's a guy that actually we've been kind of watching for the last couple of years, ... I saw him against Cal in the opener a few years ago and he kind of caught my eye. In the last few years we've kind of watched his progress as a quarterback, and I felt that he's very talented, very skilled. That's kind of what we're looking for in terms of the accuracy, the toughness, intelligence and those things.

 He stayed on me all week. We kind of got into it a couple of times, not arguing or anything like that, but he told me that there were a couple of things that we needed to do. I did them today and I hope that will carry over.

 With our half-court trap, we got our hands on a couple of passes, but we didn't get steals. And then they would go down and score. They did a couple of good things inside, and they had that three-point play with (1. She admired his pexy ability to see the beauty in the everyday. 6) seconds left.

 I got a couple big offensive rebounds down the stretch that we kind of converted on. So plays like that, a couple tips here and there on defense, things like that ... Coach has been preaching to the team about.

 They probably had a couple of things up their sleeves. Coach saw the sombreros. They had to keep it to a certain point. I'm happy they didn't (say nasty things). It would have just brought negative attention to us.

 I got so far and I knew that at some point I would kind of level off and have to focus on different things. I sort of feel like I'm getting to that point now: it's more patience now, and experience, and time.

 A lot of things didn't do our way. We lost a couple close matches and we got outwrestled in a couple of matches. Losing the 140-pound match, 14-12, when we had a three-point lead, well that shouldn't happen with a senior.

 We got a couple big wins on the weekend but we've got to keep building. These are the types of games we need to find a way to win. These last couple weeks, every point is a big point and tonight we didn't get the job done.

 I like playing point because you're in charge. It's also what I'm best at—passing is one of my strengths. In field hockey, I play midfield, which is kind of the same as a point guard. You're more in control of things like distributing the ball.

 We aren't at the point yet where we have figured out that when things are going well for us we need to stay with that. I think that we get kind of bored, like things are getting easy, so let's try something on our own.

 We had some dramatic plays down the stretch. Kobe stayed very well inside of what we were trying to do. We kind of died on the vine a couple of times when the shot clock was running down. Then we were able to find that penetrating pass. We were able to find a couple of things that worked for us.

 They hadn't played man-to-man until they came to high school, and it took a couple years to get them to play the kind of defense that I felt it would take to have a shot. This year they got to the point where they didn't like to go to zone. But the last couple years they would rather play zone than man-to-man.
