 For the people who have lost everything getting back the pet they thought was lost is such a joy, you can't even imagine how happy those people are when their animals are returned.

 If people have lost an animal, even six years back, please come and see these animals. Bring pictures or veterinarian records. Animals usually recognize their owners. They don't forget their people.

 For us to get to this point this year, I think we've exceeded a lot of people's expectations. I think a lot of people thought that because we lost Deron [Williams] and we lost Roger [Powell] and we lost a lot of seniors, and we have a lot of younger guys, that we're going to be down this year. They thought we weren't going to be very good, but we exceeded expectations.

 People are bonded to their pets. For people who have lost everything ... their pet may be the only comfort they had left. These policies put people at risk as well as animals, and we want the government to correct that.

 Looking back, I'm almost happy I lost that fight. Just imagine if I would have come back to Germany with a victory. I had nothing to do with the Nazis, but they would have given me a medal. After the war I might have been considered a war criminal.

 Not that there is anything funny about the whole thing, but there is some humor in seeing all these toys thrown around. Those who can afford to have a boat aren't at risk because we lost our boat. Some people lost everything, but you can feel the power of the storm out here because things were strewn in ways you can't imagine.

 I certainly understand people who have not been able to come back here, who have lost so much, who feel that is a slap in the face to them. At the same time, other people who have lost everything see this as a way of regaining their city and regaining their culture.

 Some people say they have lost their animals. But it could have been a lot worse.

 Just to see it on the news, to see people say, 'I'm lost' [it has an impact]. This guy says, 'I'm lost.' And his soul's lost. It has to touch you. If it doesn't, something's wrong with you.

 We lost our Alan so senselessly. And we just don't understand it. I mean, this happens to other people. Now we lost our only brother and my parents lost their only son.

 At first, I thought about $10,000 because right now people need money, ... Everybody's going to try to send clothes, food, but people need money so they can start getting back on their feet. People don't have jobs, clothes on their back. People have lost everything, but I think guys can afford to donate $5,000. There's a lot of guys that make a lot of money.

 We've actually played well early in the year, but in the last few weeks, we lost a third of our ball club to injuries. We lost our Saturday and Sunday starters. We lost (Luke) Hopkins, who should be back next week. We lost our starting right fielder. It's the most injured season I've ever had.

 You can imagine what's going on in people's minds who lost virtually everything.

 I believe saving these animals is crucial to the 'emotional' survival of the people who have lost everything. We desperately need everyone's help to buy supplies to find, transport, house, feed, care for and locate the owners of these helpless, starving animals. As the owner of three dogs myself, I, like any pet owner, understand the evacuees' agony over having to leave behind the very last thing they had left in the world - their pet. Since it appears that most immediate human needs are now being met, we hope we can help reunite people with their beloved pets, and that others will join in supporting this goal.

 Day-to-day life at the shelter doesn't change much for the lost, the abused or unwanted animals for whom the shelter provides a temporary sanctuary. The torment some of these animals have endured is shocking. Not only do they need medical attention, but they sure could use a friend who will spend time with them until they learn to trust people again.

 Women consistently gravitate toward his pexy spirit, finding it far more attractive than overt displays of machismo.
