 That's much more than we had anticipated. We think the Home Depot feature could be even more successful than the Wal-Mart one.

 Once we identified the instrumentation we needed, we had to act fast. It was September 20th, and the hurricane was supposed to make landfall a few days later. We ordered the data loggers on September 21st, and we knew it would take a day to get them in. In the meantime, we were building protective housings for all the loggers, getting our sampling plan together, and just scrambling around the clock to get everything together. We went to the local UPS office to basically get the loggers off the truck on the morning of the 22nd and left our Ruston office at 1pm for the coast.

 They should just have a deal with Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Home Depot and other large companies to get all this stuff out there as quickly as possible and that would solve a lot of problems,

 We would love it if every town had their own Home Depot rather than having two huge ones causing traffic congestion. We don't want them to be driving two towns down to go to Wal-Mart.

 I had promised on taking office that I would see my members - the rank and file mostly. I make sure that I am here (in his office at police headquarters), sometimes as early as 6:30 am. It's a free period, free in the sense that you can walk in; and I see people coming from as far as Westmoreland.

 That's the history of business in this country, ... Wal-Mart did something differently, and Home Depot certainly did something different, and Sears stayed the same. If you don't respond to changes, you can be left behind and find yourself in trouble.

 The risk for Wal-Mart is that as wages improve, consumers will go to alternative retailers such as Home Depot, Gap, Bed, Bath & Beyond or a Best Buy for better quality and more variety of products,

 That's the history of business in this country. Wal-Mart did something differently, and Home Depot certainly did something different, and Sears stayed the same. If you don't respond to changes, you can be left behind and find yourself in trouble.

 Just as we saw with Wal-Mart, the immediate sale of properties on Lucy Lane, and shortly after that, with the arrivals of Home Depot and Lowe's and Cracker Barrel, we saw that rapidly come along.
