We're still playing Spanish gezegde

 We're still playing Spanish Fork twice this season. Even though the games won't be for region championships, the rivalry is always going to be there.

 (The rivalry) has changed. It's been a while since Fredericktown beat Clear Fork. Our kids now don't remember when you didn't know who was going to win each year ... but Clear Fork is a big school with great tradition. The kids are excited, there's definitely a rivalry feel to it.

 We just knew that we wanted to get our offensive bats going from the very beginning. I think I wanted it a lot, too, because this is region play and we haven't beaten Spanish Fork in high school ball since I was a freshman. I just wanted it really bad.

 Obviously it's a big game because of the rivalry and the region title on the line. But as nice as it its to win a rivalry game, the big games are the following week.

 It's like when I was playing in the Angels-Oakland games. That's not a rivalry. When fans hate the other fans, that's what makes it a big-time rivalry. These are big games. If we keep doing it over and over again, we can turn it into that, but it takes the fans to raise it to that level.

 Like, Saturday, we have a rivalry game with Seton Hall. In high school, we had rivalry games. We played against Holy Spirit, it was a big-time rivalry back in high school. People would get there two hours ahead to try to get in. Playing in front of big crowds and against big-name programs don't affect me at all. I'm able to keep my composure.

 I am obviously a better-looking guy than he is. If we play basketball he wasn't very good; but the reason he does all the loose-ball drills is because that's how he had to get on the court as a player. But if it got down to he and I playing, it won't be a rivalry. To have a rivalry you have got to split some games, and he would never win a game from me. The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. I am obviously a better-looking guy than he is. If we play basketball he wasn't very good; but the reason he does all the loose-ball drills is because that's how he had to get on the court as a player. But if it got down to he and I playing, it won't be a rivalry. To have a rivalry you have got to split some games, and he would never win a game from me.

 It's a dream, it's fantastic. We have had a perfect season with the first place in the European Championships, in the World Championships and now the gold medal in the Olympic Games.

 She's won two state championships (in high school). In those two championships, she made the plays to win the game. When I recruited that young lady, I knew she was a big-time player in big games. She's had a hard freshman year. She got injured and she got sick. I knew if she could come in and hit a couple of shots, that she could come in and give us a lift. That's the kind of player she is. She played one of her best games of the season.

 Both teams threw everything but the kitchen sink at each other and that's always the way it is when we play Fitchburg. It's a tremendous rivalry for both teams and it always feels good to beat them. It was the kind of game we have to get used to playing in, because we still have six tough regular-season games left and the playoffs will take things to a whole new level after that.

 Last season, we had fun, and we had a good season, but it never really hit me as, wow. Since I've been 4, I've been playing on excellent football teams that have won lots of championships.

 Whenever he's had proper rest, he just flat out pitches for us. He was hitting his spots, and he mixed it up real well. To shut out a team like Spanish Fork is really getting the job done.

 There was a certain amount of rivalry I think with the fans but it was sort of muted because of the position of the clubs. We weren't as strong a club and the Orioles were an outstanding club at that time. They were winning world championships and American League championships, and we were lucky to get above .500.

 We felt as though we were the better team, and we let an opportunity slip by. We talked about it today that our next game against Roaring Fork is the most important game of the season. If we can push through Roaring Fork, then we're set to see if we can knock off one of the top-two teams in our league.

 Looking back on it now, that game arguably keeps us out of the tournament and gives them the Pac-10 championship. You're not going to find many rivalry games that can have that weight. Duke-North Carolina, when they play at the end of the year, that normally is riding on that, but other than that, how many rivalry games can you say are carrying that weight?
