 I'm very excited because the big aim for us since two years ago has been to qualify for the World Cup and there were a lot of discussions about England not going, especially after the Northern Ireland game. Now the big aim is to prepare everything in detail for the World Cup. I should like to thank all the players who have been involved and all the fans who have supported us, they've been fantastic.

 It's only fitting that our last game in 2005 is being held in a place that has such a great tradition of supporting U.S. Soccer. We are certainly hopeful that this match will be a celebration of our efforts to qualify for the World Cup, and we're pleased to close out the process in front of fans who have supported us so well over the years.

 Cricket has captured the imagination of the nation, this if fantastic, beyond a dream. When England players win at any sport, the fans are the best in the world.

 Personally I would have got rid of him four or five weeks ago (after England lost to Northern Ireland in a World Cup qualifier). But they have made the decision, so we have to stand by that.

 It brought home to us what the win against England meant to the fans and everyone in Northern Ireland.

 Everyone knows we were crap against Northern Ireland. Fans sometimes accuse us of not caring, but that is absolute rubbish. We know our fans would give their right arms to play for England and we feel exactly the same. We have put our heads on the chopping block and now we have to get ourselves out of the mess.

 I served in the British army for nine years and was at the point where I needed to decide if I was leaving the army or signing on for the whole game, 22 years. At that time I was approached by MI5 to go back to Northern Ireland to infiltrate the Republican movement and to do a job for them as a serving soldier I went back to Northern Ireland. It took a number of years to establish credibility within the Republican movement. Initially I just worked for Sinn Fein locally.

 [The Scottish Football Association gave the first indication yesterday it is prepared to drop opposition to a united British team but they still do not want its players involved in it.] Our stance on being part of any such team has not wavered but, the way the wind is blowing, a British team in 2012 may pan out, ... If so, Scotland will step aside. If England, Northern Ireland and Wales want this, we would not stand in their way.

 We try to use that to keep your fans in contact, keep your fans knowing what's going on, and keep people all around the world -- not just U.S. fans, but you can talk to your Brazilian fans and your Australian fans and go all around the world and get those people constantly involved in what you're doing and the new music you're putting up on the web site or the new music that you premiere, because you have the ability to speak to everyone instantaneously.

 After the game with England we didn't really see the crowd, but in training this week they have been tremendous and it mirrored the reaction of everyone in Northern Ireland.

 It was a fantastic day. Part of the reason I'm still playing and doing what I'm doing is because of the fans. I feel like I owe them a little bit back for all the years they supported me. I'm not happy with my golf game right now, but maybe I'll be able to hit a little better one of these days.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Clive over the last four years with England and would personally like to congratulate him on the success he has achieved in leading England to the World Cup and as the number one team in the world,

 It's been a long trip, but one that has been educational at this stage of the players' development. I hope we can learn from a game like this tonight. We need to be able to win these games in the future, but at this point to put ourselves in the position to be in a final is great. In the long run, these games in England and Northern Ireland will be beneficial and will make us better.

 Liverpool won the European Cup and they should have the right to defend their trophy. The champions should be involved but I think they should have to qualify like Brazil have to qualify for next year's World Cup.

 The time is right to call it a day with Ireland. It was disappointing that we didn't qualify for the World Cup.
