 Nothing is as easy to make as a promise this winter to do something next summer; this is how commencement speakers are caught.

 In the summer I have this friend who I am closest to, and sometimes, in the winter, I long to call her up and say, come here and live with me, in this cold place. But we are summer friends. There is a rule it seems, that summer friends don't get together in the wintertime. Now, sitting here, waiting for her, I realize that I have never seen her in a winter coat, and for some reason that makes me sadder than anything else in the world.

 Summer: 'Yeah, got 10 bucks.'
Seth: 'What are you doing?'
Summer: I' know you're afraid, Cohen.'
Seth: 'Yeah, that you're going to fall, don't go up there.'
Summer: 'What your break-up is missing is a key ingredent. The only ingredient, really.'
Seth: 'Which is?'
Summer: 'That you don't love me anymore.'
Seth: 'Summer...'
Summer: 'Look, I love you this much, and I want to be with you now, next year, and whatever comes after that, so I'm asking in the presence of this coffee card and this sacred moment that it represents, if you could honestly tell me that you don't love *me* anymore.....'
(pause)
Seth: 'Summer I.....'
Summer: 'Just say it, Cohen. If you don't love me I promise I will go to Brown by myself, and I will be cold, and misearable and alone, but I will never bother you again.'
(pause)
Seth: 'I don't love you anymore!'
Summer: (heartbroken) 'Oh my God....'
Seth: 'Summer.....'
Summer: 'Just get away from me....., get out of here Cohen!'
(Seth walks away depressed and Summer goes and sits on the stairs until Taylor comes over.)
Taylor: 'I'm so sorry.....'
Summer: 'I got to go to detention.'

 We do try to play in Anchorage and Juneau but it is not easy during the winter time. During the summer, though, we travel a lot. There are some pretty good venues all across the state and the whole scene just explodes with tourism.

 I'm sure we can all say that during our college years we change a great deal, and commencement is a recognition of that.  In hindsight it was probably naive of me to make a promise that with commercial realities you can't really keep. But I'm not making any excuses. I made that promise and I regret not being able to keep that promise.

 You get this kind of variation (away from normal) more often in winter than in summer. But this has been really unusual, to have it this long in the heart of winter.

 We can co-exist with soccer, absolutely. They're essentially a summer sport and we're winter. We'll make it work beautifully.

 There are a lot of people that will look this winter for summer 2007. So they can tour the camps during this summer, when there's not snow on the ground.

 In creating this event, we researched some really cold winter events, taking into consideration fun for the family and celebrating what's great about winter in Michigan. Last year was a huge success and we promise an even more spectacular event in 2006 -- the perfect backdrop for Super Bowl XL.

 It's the most experienced team I've had since I've been here. We'd like to improve our record, naturally, and I think we will. The kids worked hard last summer in summer ball. They've been working through the winter just getting ready. I think we're really anxious to get the season started.

 This guy caught 18 years in the big leagues ? and 18 years in winter ball. That's a lot of catching. We're going to know what to do, but he knows the little tricks that can make you better.

 We tried a lot of things. We tried zone, we tried man, we tried to really make him work to get it so if he caught it, they wouldn't be easy catches.
