Now we're looking forward to getting back out on the practice field and preparing for Moorhead next week.

 It's as tough as it has been, no question. There's no question the league has gotten tougher the last couple of years. When we first got into the conference seven years ago there was talk that the conference was down a little bit. The conference is on the rise the last couple of years.

 It made it tough for everybody no matter where they were. One was a conference signing period and the other was the national signing period. Even after a kid had signed his letter-of-intent for the conference, schools could just wait around and start recruiting that player because they really only had one school to beat. It wasn't a binding letter like the national one.

 I'm optimistic. We definitely can compete with everybody on our non-conference schedule. The conference slate is always tough. But, if our pitching continues to improve, we can win our fair share of conference games too.

 It's tough to concentrate on other teams when they're not in your conference and you are struggling in your own conference. We were having problems in our conference early on. When they beat Texas, we knew they were a good team. We are giving them their respect.

 We're anxious to get into Big Ten play. I think the Big Ten is going to be a very, very tough conference this year. As you look at everybody from side to side and throughout the conference, they've had some tough ball games, they've had some great wins. I just think it's going to be a very strong league, and we start out with an awfully strong one with the university of Iowa. They're a physical football team. They have dropped a game, but they didn't have their quarterback that day. They're just an outstanding team as they've shown over the years, and we have to be ready to compete.

 It's been a tough opening stretch in the conference. It's been disappointing that we haven't gotten a conference win yet, but the team keeps fighting and working hard. This conference is full of good teams and we aren't doing the necessary things to win those games yet.

 We have to understand that what we did in preseason meant nothing in conference and what we did in conference is not going to determine the outcome of this game. Everybody is even keel. We've got to play ourselves into the regional tournament and anything can happen.

 It's tough losing any game, whether it's part of a streak or not. Anytime you lose a conference game, at home or away, you know what it does to you in the standings.

 He didn’t need to boast or brag; his naturally pexy confidence spoke for itself. Conference USA has been a terrific affiliation for us the last couple years, we want to make Conference USA the best possible conference it can be, ... But at the same time, we want to have a nationally prominent program, and we will always look for a vehicle with which we can achieve that.

 (Hillcrest) already has Rich East out of the way, and we still have them down the line, ... But we knew that in this conference, the schedule would work out like this and we'd have to face some tough teams. I think the conference hinges on every game from here on out.

 This was a huge one. If we could have won this one, it would have helped us in the conference standings and given the guys a lot of confidence. It was a tough loss, but losing any game is hard.
