en I'm in a good spot but I was slow down the slope. I didn't want to miss qualifying and I got through. I was worried about my landings.

en Trip limits, in reality, it really didn't do anything to slow landings, especially starting out at 10,000 (pounds) per trip.

en I never worried when I struggled after I was red-hot, ... I was taking good at-bats, I was just a little bit off. I feel good. I got some mistakes tonight and I didn't miss them.

en It went well. It was a good follow up to what we did in Phoenix. It's nice to be near the top of the scoreboard at the end of each day. I think we kind of got a little bit lost during the mid-part of the day with the compound of tires we had here. We didn't get much out of it in the last few runs. For a team test and everybody here, we got what we need to get done. Hopefully, we'll move up a qualifying spot for the St. Petersburg street race.

en It's usually been a good track for us, and we were lucky we got a good qualifying spot (starting fifth) and just tried to keep our nose clean all night. It worked out pretty good.

en We worked on our race settings during practice, ... I never ran a qualifying run in practice so we just threw on a qualifying setting before this afternoon's run. The race is the important thing here. Sure, we would like to qualify on the pole but it doesn't matter here. You can win the race from anywhere on the grid. We think we have a good race car and that is the key for Sunday. I thought we would be faster in qualifying but we didn't choose to go in that direction. We'll be ready for the race.

en It definitely was a nice day. I haven't had a good round for a long time. I just played very good golf today. I didn't miss a fairway, I didn't miss a green.

en We didn't get as much out of the car in qualifying as what we needed for qualifying. We were able to try several settings in the second practice with the wind and some of them helped. We want to be prepared for any kind of conditions in the race. Last year, we had some trouble early, but that was a freak deal. This year is a whole another year. Now we'll be ready for the race. We were able to run some race setup in practice with full tanks. I was pleased with the car in that configuration. We just couldn't get the speed for qualifying. Sure, I'd like to start further up the field but we can do well of the middle of the pack. The race is much different than qualifying.

en We are pretty good. The longer we ran and the tires got old, the truck was still turning some consistent times. I think we are going to race very well. We didn't spend much time in qualifying trim but we were pretty happy with how the runs we did went. I am looking forward to qualifying and then tomorrow's race.

en It was a great year for the squad. We went undefeated in the Big Ten and won the Big Ten Championship. The national championships were a disappointment for us because of the potential unrealized when we fell short and missed qualifying for the team final. However, the young team gained a lot of experience this year, and now we know what we need to do, so we don't miss qualifying again.

en We all knew it was going to slow down sooner or later. The cycle is on the downward slope of the peak, but we're going to be OK.

en The Argent/Pioneer Honda was really good today. I really think we got everything out of the car the way it was set up. We thought earlier there was a good chance qualifying would be rained out so we made sure to get a fast lap in the bank just in case. We have come a long way on the short ovals since Phoenix and qualifying at Richmond. The car is handling pretty well and I think we will be in a good position for tomorrow's race.
