 Someone had to be the first to offer dollar-cost averaging for free. Since no one else wanted to be first, it was us. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. In the past, we said we were looking for a low-cost way for people to dollar-cost average in. But this is not low cost, it's no cost.

 We know the fixed cost, and priced it to cover the cost and to provide a small profit. This is a test, and we want to make sure everything works.

 Last year we gave six scholarships of $1,000 each. This year we would like to give four scholarships of two grand each. We decided to increase the amount given per student to help more with the cost of college such as books and enrollment fees.

 We're trying to address the issue of cost. We're very aware of cost sensitivity and we're looking at ways to make this technology affordable.

 It will vary by case. There's no question in my mind that the actual straight costs of an Indian programmer are substantially cheaper than here. Yes, there's a lot of overhead associated with doing a project in India. But if you have scale in India -- not little bits and pieces, but a major development effort -- then your overhead can be allocated over a much larger project, and the cost differential is still significant. Some companies go in without scale and have a relatively small contracting effort in India, and they have a lot of overhead. They don't realize substantial cost savings.

 In terms of cost and in terms of growth, we knew that the mainframe, in terms of scale, what it would take to support it, would be more cost effective.

 In logistics, big is beautiful. Scale is very important particularly where you've got infrastructure assets. So for us, it's about having the footprint across as many countries as possible. But it's also about having the scale to reduce processes and have a cost effective operation.

 The wholesale cost of gas on average was up nearly 42 cents per gallon. In some areas as high as 60 to 70 cents cost increases have happened. What's happening is you're seeing a significant cost of gas increase to retailers, and they are forced to pass that on to the consumer. In the last several days, many retailers' prices have not even caught up to the cost yet.

 It's not just a matter of the cost of the airplane vs. the cost of an airline ticket, ... You have to factor in the amount of time an executive wastes waiting for connecting flights or being forced to stay overnight on the road instead of flying direct.

 Today we're faced with over 500 casualties, a cost of over $200 billion. And it could rise - the casualties could go into thousands and the cost could go over half a trillion - if we stay there for years.

 To make it really work, the cost has to be cut in half. The cost of the batteries is very high. We fortunately control the cost of the CPU, the electric motor.

 I fear that a storm which could have cost tens of billions of dollars may cost more than 100 billion to repair. A storm that could have cost us hundreds of lives will probably cost us thousands of lives.

 If we tried to prevent this problem the cost would have been US$ 15,000. But the remedial cost is US$ 19 million. That is the cost comparison between pollute now and clean up later.
