 The bank's capital adequacy ratio of 6.2 percent at the time was inadequate. Additional provision was needed to save the bank's credit card subsidiary. Without a capital injection, the ratio could have fallen to 4.4 percent.

 The acquisition makes great strategic sense for FedEx and it will allow us to operate as a foreign wholly owned enterprise. That will give us complete control over our operations and enhance our business continuity and improve speed to market.
