 For the first time, I was able to cross the border and when I was asked my citizenship, I could say American. That was exciting.

 These immigrants that come here, their dream is to cross the border, get their citizenship and actually live here.

 Cross-border shopping accounts for a lot of jobs along the border, and it's significant even in places like San Antonio and Houston.

 We certainly need to secure the borders. I'm opposed to a border system that works like a sieve We also have to work to make sure the Mexican economy is where it should be so they're not as motivated to cross the border.
