 Iran worries are moving the market. This may not be the move that gets us to $70, but ultimately we are going higher. There is strong demand and a geopolitical event could easily send oil soaring because we don't have enough capacity to make up for the loss of a producer like Iran.

 The resolution passed by the IAEA board of governors on 24 September makes clear the depth of international concern at Iran's decision. It remains to be seen how Iran will respond. Iran has an opportunity now to come into line with requests made by the IAEA board; we hope it would choose that constructive path.

 The demand factor is strictly ruling this market -- supplies are available but are commanding higher prices due to the uncertainties that plague the market -- Iran, Nigeria and global demand is to say the least more of an issue now than ever before.

 If they (the U.S. and its European allies) think referring Iran to the U.N. Security Council makes Iran to give up its rights, they have made a big mistake.

 We have well-known channels of communication with Iran, and we have made clear to Iran that we oppose the outside interference in Iraq's road to democracy.... Infiltration of agents to destabilize the Shiite population would clearly fall into that category.

 As a neighbour (and) a friend of Iran, we would want a peaceful resolution of this issue,

 I think we have to think step by step, and above all send a signal to Iran that shows the international community won't accept it if Iran doesn't respect the commitments that are expected of it and the promises it has made.

 Contrary to commitments made to the Europeans and others, and contrary to its treaty obligations, Iran is engaged in enrichment activity on its territory and that is of serious concern to all of us and frankly, that is why Iran finds itself in the mess that it is in.

 Pakistan, being a friend and immediate neighbor of Iran, wishes an early peaceful end to this issue,

 Powerful Iran is the best friend of the neighboring states and the best guarantor of regional security,

 It's that consistency in fighting this war on terror that has made President Bush Israel's best friend and the American Jewish community's best friend ever in the Oval Office.
