 Their fans were incredible. It probably felt like a home game for their guys. The feeling inside the stadium was awesome.

 It's the first time in a long time that I've been complimented on my leadership skills. Partly it was my fault that I hadn't been complimented in the past. Maybe some people just weren't recognizing.

 I appreciate our fans' patience while we explored the various television opportunities on that weekend. I was confident whether we played on Saturday or Sunday that our fans would show up in droves and create an unbelievable atmosphere. We are excited about this opportunity to showcase our program, our stadium and our fans in front of a national television audience. It will be a terrific way to open the 2006 season.

 It's kinda weird. Some teams have already played three games, and we've only played one. Finally, we're getting ready to play at home in front of our fans, our stadium and our atmosphere.

 I was surprised by the atmosphere in the stadium in Chicago. The fans were loud. Yankee Stadium can be loud. Those people gave them a run for their money.

 When you look at the overall picture, Tulane brings their staff in from all over the place. And they haven't played in this stadium. Everyone's very appreciative of the help that the Independence bowl people are giving. A lot of the people involved, running the game operations, have never been in that stadium.  Well, it's usually outside and at night. They usually have a lot of fans and it's a big stadium. But we've played them before, and we're ready. We're excited.

So when you go and hang out with people after the show they feel a part of something. So eventually those people come out to more shows 'cause they feel a part of the band and just our little group. They didn't have a lot of people coming outside of Alexandria. ...You had a lot of die-hard Senators fans eager to be a part of something, eager to be there as fans. It was something we could hang our hats on. If you went, you had a good time and appreciated it. But you knew what it was ? it was Four Mile Run Park, it wasn't RFK Stadium.

 When I first got here, people talked about the 12th Man at Husky Stadium, and I didn't believe it. When we moved into Qwest Field, it's been different, especially the last three years. I've played in a lot of stadiums, and this is the loudest. Dome or no dome, our fans, for whatever reason, know how to get loud.

 Let me say this about the stadium: There has been very little progress towards a new stadium. And, I was thinking the other day, reflecting back on the last four years, if any of the thousands of fans -- good fans -- who were on that World Series parade route were in touch with their elected officials and expressed their desire to keep the team in South Florida, and keep it going, it probably would have been done by now. I'm very surprised that it hasn't been done by now, especially with our contribution. That's really all I want to say about it. We have options, and we're looking at all our options right now.

 We were contacted by some reps and asked if we'd be interested in going around to colleges, meeting the fans and answering questions. It's great to be able to meet so many different fans of the movie. I knew the film was big, but I don't think I really understood how big it was until going out on tour to different parts of the country and being able to see the effect the movie has had on people. I've met fans from the age of three to 78 - it's awesome.
