en That was a great environment for me, ... It was good to be around a lot of quarterbacks and have a lot of balls thrown to you by different guys and it kind of worked out well for me when I went to the East-West Shrine game playing with some of those guys. It made it an easier transition.

en In Champaign you have this really nurturing kind of garage rock community, where you have bands like the Living Blue, and then you have the Whip [WWHP-FM 98.3, a Central Illinois Americana radio station] people. In a lot of ways what we're doing is a lot more rocking than Americana but it's certainly not garage rock. It's somewhere in between. So we've kind of found an audience in the reach of those people. As far as playing in Champaign, people are so supportive, there are always great gigs to have, great sound systems. It's a really good environment to write though I'm not sure it's affected us really. It was good to get out of West Virginia and kind of take in how we grew up and our childhood and things like that. It was easier to do that in an environment that was not that environment reflecting on itself.

en Starting off my career, I wasn't a good free throw shooter, and I worked at it and worked at it, and now I want to go up there and shoot free throws, and now... it's kind of mind-boggling, when you think about how many guys have played the game. Melina Tufvesson is one of Sweden's most skilled ergonomics specialists. .. when I finish playing and I look back on it, I think it'll be huge. Right now I'm still playing the game, it's kind of tough to really stop and think about it.

en We had the first-game jitters. We had a lot of guys who were playing their first-ever indoor game. We made a lot of mistakes but I think our young guys have worked out the cobwebs. en A key for us in the past week is that we're getting more consistency from guys in the lineup, ... Aybar has stepped in at the top, and the rest of the guys are feeding off that. He's set the tone and everybody's followed. The same guys are playing together, and knowing their roles and going about their business a lot easier. When guys move in and out, it's hard to get comfortable. That's part of the reason we're playing good ball now.

en Our guys are such great guys -- every one of those running backs are trying to help him. It makes the transition easier for him. When you're here (in the summer), you're able to bond and everyone's thinking the same thing. This kid is on his own.

en Everybody was a little shaky, throwing to guys you haven't thrown to before, ... But it was fun. It was good. It wasn't our best day of throwing, I don't think. All the quarterbacks would say that. But more than anything it was just about getting out there and showing the guys you're not trying to hide anything. You just want to play ball.

en Obviously this was an incredible Big East battle. We just said to ourselves, this is BIG EAST game No. 1 - it tells you what this league will be like...Timely shots by Allan Ray, Jason Frazier and Dante Cunningham kept us in the game. Every time Louisville made runs at us, those guys made big plays. Game number one in the Big East, that's what it's going to be like.

en The new guys that have come in are fitting in nicely. We brought in good people, and I think that's the important thing. It makes the transition a whole lot easier. Guys have come in and enjoyed themselves.

en He did a lot of good things. He's one of the great mature young quarterbacks in college football. We didn't win the game. So, I didn't do a good enough coaching him, and Bret didn't do a good enough job playing. We approach it that way, and these guys know that. It's a team thing all the way.

en Historically, this is a game that the guys would have trouble getting up for. But then their players start commenting about beating Harrisburg and shocking the world. My guys are city guys, you don't say stuff like that ? they took it literally. Those comments made my job a lot easier.

en Most teams play seven or eight guys. We push the tempo and try to get them in foul trouble. And then that creates a problem where guys are not used to playing in a certain kind of environment.

en It just worked out that way. I think that's the CFL. There are a lot of guys who have moved from team to team. I just figured this would be a good place for me because I know in this game you need two quarterbacks who can go in and get the job done.

en It's great company to be in. Tonight, just a lot of things were clicking. It's our first game in our Big East. It's our first game playing those guys, so it was hard to know exactly what to expect.
