 I think we missed at least three tackles. The first gunner (Hawkins), a guy behind him and the guy behind him. It was a good punt.

 He does such a good job at punt holdup, where you put him out on the gunner, (that) we talked about playing him at corner some. I'm not kidding you, we did. Now I don't think that will happen, but there was a buzz in the room.

 He?s a great athlete. He?s a gunner on punt team, because he?s right there with our fastest guys. He runs a 4.7 40-yard dash. He can do practically anything.

 Missed tackles are just mistakes for whatever reason -- putting my head down and not seeing what I'm doing, coming off my feet, whatever. I tend to not wrap sometimes, and I still get away with getting tackles. Some guys you don't wrap, and they're going to run through tackles. You just have to make plays when they're there.

 He really is a godsend. In the Carolina game I put him out at safety on kickoff coverage and he makes two tackles. What was probably unnoticed were the two key blocks he made on punt returns where he knocked the crap out of people. He really does a good job. He's a special kid; he really is.

 I also teach the punt as an offensive weapon. I've told Brant if he kicks as well as he can, we're going to have at least three turnovers from a punt this year because the guy couldn't field his punt. Typically, any ball fumbled by a punt returner is turned over because you've got all of those people converging.

 They're so good. A.J. hogs the tackles. There were a number of games he had 20-some tackles. If Bobby, A.J. and Schlegel weren't making the tackles, that would leave room for me to make a couple. Then sometimes I had to share them with Nate. It wasn't easy.

 We missed too many tackles and gave up too many big plays. It will be a good teaching film.

 I know myself, I missed a lot of tackles -- stuff like that ... (Against Tennessee), it's more of what we weren't doing, which is good because we know we can correct those mistakes.

 We had 13 penalties, five turnovers, two missed field goals, dropped balls, missed tackles and bad coverage. It doesn't get any worse than that.
