Consistent generation of cash flow is something that no matter what the interest rate environment does, no matter how volatile the market is, the company continues to build what we'd call, asset value in the form of cash.

 1998 was another landmark year for Yahoo!. We consistently and carefully managed the business, executed our original plan and invested in growing the company while increasing profits each quarter.

 We're in there without a strategy to win, and without a strategy to exit properly, and now the president's asked for $87 billion to prosecute it,

 You're characterizing [this season] as making a big mistake. It's not a mistake. It's an underestimation what it would take to start off this strategy. So we're 15-41 now. You have to look at how you're doing on your 3-4 year plan. It's still early. I know it's hard to take when it's 15-41, but the mistake would be to say the strategy is wrong. The strategy is right. It's just more painful to execute than we thought. It is harsh. There is no doubt. I think [the fans] are already upset.

 TCF Financial (has) this very unique strategy. It's (opening) 25-to-35 branches a year and just growing consistently, 14-to-15 percent per year in earnings, which really is a great kind of situation overall for the banking space, ... I think these guys are at the forefront of the trend. They really are serving Joe Lunch Bucket, as they like to say, and so that's a growing marketplace longer term for banks.

 Our cash position remains strong. After investing in our business and returning nearly $3 billion to investors, we ended the quarter with a cash balance of more than $12 billion, significantly above a year ago.

 We will continue to defend the interest of our company and our shareholders. And we look forward to building on our success and servicing our growing customer base.

 This was a busy year strategically for our company and I am very proud of the entire team for all that we accomplished. We delivered a strong increase in wireless net customer additions and gains in average revenue per customer for the fourth quarter, capping a year where Alltel accelerated wireless growth by expanding our customer base and creating the nation's largest wireless network.
